A Mid-Level Litigation Attorney for our Life Sciences team is sought for Frier Levitt's Pine Brook, NJ, office. The Associate Attorney will be responsible for:
- Drafting of pleadings, motions and written discovery requests
- Extensive oral and written communication with clients on factual investigation, litigation strategies and case status
- Drafting objections and responses to written discovery requests
- Review, analysis and indexing of document production
- Preparing and managing scheduling orders, protective orders, e-discovery orders
- Preparing deposition outlines and deposition exhibits
- Conducting depositions of witnesses
- Defending depositions of witnesses
- Preparing witness outlines and exhibits for trials and hearings in court, arbitration, and before administrative agencies
- Conducting oral argument on motions
- Appearing in Court or Arbitration for scheduling conferences and status conferences
- Developing strategies, drafting mediations statements, and appearing for mediations and settlement conferences
- Working with state-based boards and administrative agencies.
- Sitting Second Chair for Trials and Final Hearings in Arbitration
Requirements:
- 3-5 years of experience in litigation (healthcare or life sciences experience a plus)
- Must be willing to work in the Pine Brook, NJ, office a minimum of 3 days per week
- Admitted to practice in at least one US state
- Experience performing most/all of the job responsibilities of the position (outlined above)
- Exceptional writing skills
- Excellent oral skills
- Strong legal research skills
- Strong listener and communicator
- Team-player mindset, and ability to work cohesively and collaboratively with a team of attorneys
- Strong work ethic
- Minimum law school GPA of 3.0 preferred
