People and Culture Business Partner

JobDescription:

The People & Culture Business Partner will assist in all areas of human resources, from talent acquisition and M&A to employee relations, project management, and how these areas relate to company culture and employee life cycle.

Responsibilities:

Leadership Effectiveness

Partner with leadership to evaluate and improve team structure and team effectiveness
Provide coaching to people managers on topics related to talent development, performance management and company policies

Talent Management

Assist and oversee in the entire employee lifecycle, including talent management, acquisitions and onboarding of employees
Facilitate stay and exit interviews, analyzing the qualitative data and recommending actionable improvements to enhance employee retention and engagement.
Assist in coaching people managers on topics related to talent development and performance management

Employee Relations

Serve as a trusted advisor to employees and people managers for performance concerns, policy interpretation, and corrective action
Conduct or support investigations into employee relations issues; document findings and recommend action
Ensure consistent application of policies, practices, and standards
Maintain compliance with federal, multi-state, and local labor laws
Assist in the employee rewards program
Support the annual performance review and talent development planning processes

Leave of Absence Management

Track and manage LOA activity
Partner with people managers to assess and plan for workforce coverage during periods of increased LOA volume
Coordinate with internal People and Culture partners and third-party administrators to ensure timely and accurate LOA communication and documentation

Company Culture

Promote a positive, inclusive, and accountable work environment
Support employee engagement initiatives across the company
Analyze and share workforce data and trends to inform leadership decisions related to retention, engagement, and staffing

OtherFunctions:

Serve as backup resource for People and Culture colleagues spanning traditional Generalist duties as needed
Demonstrates strong technological aptitude, with the ability to quickly learn, adapt to, and leverage new tools, systems, and digital platforms to improve efficiency and outcomes.
Other duties as assigned

Experience & Competencies Required:

High school diploma or GED
Bachelor's degree preferred
3+ years of experience working in a Human Resources capacity for a multi-state employer
Working knowledge of HR functions and procedures (e.g., compliance, leave management, pay and benefits, recruitment, training, and development, etc.)
Microsoft Office skills to include Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel; ability to navigate web-based programs
Ability to work in fast changing environment supporting continuous growth of the Company
Strong verbal and written communication skills, to include influencing others and conflict management
Display keen attention to detail for accuracy with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Possess strong planning and organizational skills to successfully manage multiple priorities simultaneously
Demonstrate sound judgment when making decisions and operate with discretion and integrity
Ability to assess issues as they arise, maintain composure under pressure, and develop thoughtful and appropriate responses
Knowledge of HR principles and best practices for employment law, talent management, workforce planning, and engagement
Ability to acquire a thorough understanding of the Company’s hierarchy, jobs, qualifications, compensation practices, and the related administrative practices
HR designation (SHRM or HRCI) preferred

Experience & Competencies Required:

As a remote company, you must meet the expectations for a successful remote work environment

Have access to a reliable and consistently strong, high-speed internet connection suitable for remote work.
Past full time remote work experience
Designate a quiet, and well-lit space free of as many distractions as possible
Be online and available to work during scheduled business hours in local time zone
Accustomed to using Microsoft Teams (or similar virtual-meeting applications) to meet with colleagues regularly on video and use the chat feature for quick communications.

Physical Effort:

Work time will be spent sitting approximately 95% of the time, standing and walking approximately 5% of the work time. PC keyboarding constitutes approximately 80% of the work time.
