A school district in Lewistown, PA is seeking a dedicated School Psychologist for the 2025-2026 school year. This contract position offers the opportunity to work in an elementary school setting serving approximately 500-600 students from kindergarten through 5th grade, with some evaluation responsibilities at the middle school level. The district emphasizes a collaborative approach through the use of Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) and Response to Intervention (RTI) to support students with Specific Learning Disabilities (SLD).
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations and assessments for students K-5, with some responsibilities extending to middle school students
- Collaborate with educators, administrators, and families to develop and implement intervention strategies under MTSS and RTI frameworks
- Support the identification and eligibility determination process for students with learning disabilities
- Participate in team meetings, Individualized Education Program (IEP) development, and ongoing progress monitoring
- Provide consultation and support to staff and families to promote student academic and behavioral success
Qualifications
- Valid certification or licensure as a School Psychologist
- Experience in elementary school settings preferred
- Knowledge of MTSS, RTI, and SLD identification protocols
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations and collaborative teams
