Systems Engineering Manager – Innovation
We are seeking a Systems Engineering Manager to build and lead a team of 4-6 hacker-mindset architects and engineers. This role is hands-on, with involvement in concept development and prototyping. This leader will drive next-generation innovation in healthcare, overseeing, as well as creating yourself, transformative solutions with a mix of robotics, software, machine learning, hardware, and firmware. Your experience in in lean product development, rapid prototyping, and disruptive technology will be instrumental in building disruptive products to improve the quality of patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Recruit, inspire, and lead a high-performing team of hacker-minded architects and engineers. Cultivate a collaborative, creative, and high-energy work environment focused on rapid innovation.
- Develop, prototype, and iterate on new concepts and solutions for healthcare medication management. Be directly involved in conceptualizing, building, testing and validating early-stage prototypes and technologies with our customers. Ensure your ideas solve our customers greatest unmet needs.
- Use lean startup methodology to drive lean product development processes. Rapidly turn ideas into minimum viable products (MVPs) to gather insights and feedback for improvement.
- Lead efforts to design and prototype innovative, scalable, and sustainable solutions. This could include the integration of robotics, software, machine learning, hardware, and firmware.
- Oversee timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure projects meet the needs of healthcare providers while adhering to lean product principles.
- Work closely with stakeholders across Omnicell, our customers, and partners to understand and address complex challenges in the healthcare medication journey.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- Proven track record of innovative product development, systems engineering, and robotics. Prior experience building and leading technical teams in high-growth or entrepreneurial settings.
- Proficiency in hardware, software, firmware development and cutting edge technology integration.
- Experience in engineering solutions that push the envelope, extra points for attempting to build something revolutionary that failed and you learned from it.
- Working knowledge of robotics, machine learning, and data integration in healthcare or similar industries.
- Experience in lean product development, prototyping, and iterative design.
