Your Role at Baxter

As the Sr. Electrical Engineer, you will develop creative solutions to challenging problems associated with the design of our new and existing infusion system product portfolio. You will possess strong technical capabilities, an excitement and energy for product development, and a passion for their work and the impact it has on saving and sustaining the lives of patients.
What you'll be doing:
Defines design requirements and hardware specifications based on customer or user requirements.
Contributes to the development and documentation of electronic system architectures.
Creates designs of analog and digital electronic circuit schematics for microcontroller based systems, meeting performance objectives.
Analyze circuits using calculation and simulation methods to assess performance limits, effects of environmental and load stresses, and timing interfaces to ensure consistent performance in safety critical applications.
Good Knowledge of LTSpice and Pspice
Ensures successful integration of electrical design with mechanical and software elements of the system.
Completes deliverables related to design of systems and sub-systems of the overall electrical architecture.
Develops, modifies, and approves electrical design documentation, specifications and drawings.
Defines appropriate test methods to verify designs meet their performance requirements.
Advises the layout of circuit assemblies to meet emissions and immunity performance requirements and design for manufacturability guidelines.
Transitions products to manufacturing and ensures robust products and manufacturing processes.
Develops and maintains an effective and corroborative working relationship with internal and external development partners.
Resolves competing constraints between interrelated functions (engineering, purchasing, manufacturing, regulatory, marketing, etc.) required to deliver the product to market.
Executes protocols and testing required to validate the safety and effectiveness of the design(s).
Executes the troubleshooting and problem solving efforts related to electrical aspects of devices and associated systems.
Creates and communicates design/test plans, tasks, deliverables and status. Manages time and resources to meet committed schedule milestones.
What you'll bring:
BS in Electrical or Electronics or related Engineering and 3+ years of experience or Masters with 1+ year.
A demonstrated track record in electro-mechanical hardware development, preferably medical devices or other highly regulated products such as aircraft/automotive/defense industries.
Knowledge and experience in design of embedded microcontroller-based electronics devices, including FPGA-based, digital and analog design.
Experience testing electronic devices to meet immunity and emissions requirements.
Knowledge and experience using eCAD systems for printed circuit board schematic design and layout (Altium Designer, preferred) and data acquisition software (LabVIEW)
Knowledge of standards such as IEC 60601, IEC 61010, UL, ANSI and ASTM
Specific experience in design and development of sensing subsystems highly desirable.

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $88,000 to $121,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
