General Summary And Purpose
The Master Scheduler is responsible for developing production plans that satisfy customer demand and service-level Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) while carrying minimum effective inventory.
The Master Scheduler ensures Material Requirements Planning (MRP) parameters are properly maintained and controlled to meet network-wide inventory policies and generate accurate MRP output for buying and scheduling use. The Master Scheduler leads the monthly S&OP Supply Review in their area of responsibility. The Master Scheduler is an individual contributor position with subject matter expertise to adapt to changing business requirements and drive continuous improvement. As a senior position in the supply chain organization, the Master Scheduler will contribute to process and policy enhancements, create and own all written instructional procedures for MRP application, own and manage item masters and create an atmosphere that promotes development, enjoyment, and pride in work.
Duties And Responsibilities
- The primary point of contact for and liaison with purchasing, manufacturing, distribution, quality, engineering, service, finance, and sales departments.
- Rolling 12-month Master Production Schedule (MPS) for intermediate and finished goods.
- Monthly detailed and aggregate supply/demand analysis for the rolling 3-month period, highlighting areas of concern and identifying actions for mitigation.
- Ensures application remains in the validated state.
- Perform review of changes to ensure all changes within MRP system are applied in a state of control.
- Monthly leveled capacity plans for rolling 6-month period for intermediate and finished goods production.
- Alternative Supply Plans that (1) mitigate raw material supply disruptions, without impacting other core business service levels, and (2) to meet changing Customer Requirements (e.g. timing, quantity, formulation)
- Inventory targets optimized across the network which achieve the desired corporate inventory turn and service level.
- Significant product stock out risks are promptly communicated to the Commercial and Supply Chain teams.
- Sales, Inventory Operations Planning (SIOP) supply reviews for performance against KPI’s, performance against schedule, inventory strategy and forecast, supply continuity and disruptions, and resolution of issues.
- Collaboration with other value-chain team members to lead, design, or improve the cross functional process flow and inventory strategy that achieves company objectives.
- MRP planning parameters are maintained for all assigned products including finished goods, bulk materials, purchased materials, and labels on a regular basis to ensure accurate MRP output.
- Agile team member to facilitate product introductions, exits, and reformulations
- Monitors activities in MRP system to ensure data accuracy and optimizes usage of the system to improve business practices related to inventory, capacity and demand planning.
- Performs ongoing training of MRP application as needed. Job Requirements
- Thorough and in-depth working knowledge of MRP systems, Master Production Scheduling, Production Planning, and Capacity Planning.
- Proficiency in essential computer programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Practical experience with the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process
- Basic knowledge of financial and quality control points in system, and ongoing management of change and business system validation to ensure system remains in validated state.
- Sound knowledge of supply chain processes and procedures including manufacturing planning, demand, and replenishment processes.
- Ability to independently define problems, collect and analyze data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions to accomplish goals.
- Ability to create presentations with executive-level data visualization and messaging.
- May be required to work overtime to complete work or projects.
Job Specifications
- BA/BS in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
- APICS (CPIM/CSCP) or ISM (CPSM) certification strongly preferred; SCOR endorsement desirable.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience working in a similar Master Scheduler/Demand Planner role.
- Proficiency in setting and maintaining MRP planning parameters.
- Experience with NetSuite ERP system or equivalent.

The US base salary range for this position at full-time is $73,542 - $110,313 per year. Our salary ranges are determined by position, level, location, and market competitive benchmarks. Individual pay within a level is determined by work location (including geographic pay zone region), job related skills, experience, education, and training.
