The Role
As we continue to grow as QuidelOrtho, we are seeking a ServiceNow Platform Administrator. The position with be a hybrid role in San Diego, CA. The ServiceNow Platform Administrator is expected to configure and maintain the system per requirements of users and stakeholders per defined processes. The ServiceNow Platform Administrator must understand the ServiceNow platform in detail as well as integration technologies used within the platform. The ServiceNow Platform Administrator will actively participate in assigned projects to expand platform capabilities and ensure the platform remains stable and continues to deliver a great end-user experience. The ServiceNow Platform Administrator must have a clear understanding of core ITSM processes (Incident, Change, Request and Problem Management).
This position will be working in a hybrid schedule at our San Diego, Summers Ridge, CA office.
The Responsibilities
- Platform Configuration Management—Configure/customize the platform per the needs to the business while understanding the potential impact on platform operation and maintenance.
- Create and manage integrations with third party systems using Integration Hub, REST API or other available means of integration.
- Management of Service Catalog by maintaining and updating offered services and items for users to request.
- Serve as main technical resource on assigned projects—configure and deploy project related changes per defined timeline.
- Maintain user access control to and within the platform including any related automation and integrations.
- Provide support for reporting, dashboard and metric needs.
- Manage platform family release upgrades and ensure the latest patches are applied monthly to maintain security and stability.
- Maintain process, support and configuration documentation as well as provide training to users as needed.
- Create, manage and maintain notifications and associated triggers (records, rules, workflows, etc.).
- Manage and maintain end-user self-service portal, knowledge bases and underlying technology
- Identify improvement opportunities across the platform that will provide value to business (cost reduction, enhanced functionality, better end-user experience, etc.).
- Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
The Individual
Required
- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator certification.
- 5+ years of experience as a ServiceNow Administrator.
- Understanding of configuration and testing process within the platform.
- Strong understanding of Flow Designer and implementing integrations with Integration Hub.
- Understanding of available platform technologies (e.g. policies, rules, workflows, scripts, etc.) and how to leverage them to automate processes and functions.
- Deep understanding of report and dashboards and how best to leverage for workload management and metrics reporting.
- Must be able to identify, own and bring issues to resolution quickly.
- Must possess a clear understanding of ITSM processes and when they need to be used.
- Ability to think and work independently, coordinate/collaborate with team members and stakeholders, and escalate as required to perform all tasks.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Up to 5% travel required.
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science or related field.
- Previous experience with ground-up implementation of ServiceNow platform.
- Experience implementing custom integrations with third party systems.
- ITIL Foundation certification.
- Strong familiarity with scripting on the platform (e.g. JavaScript).
- Experience with branding and implementation of a self-service portal on the ServiceNow platform.
- Asset and Configuration Management experience.
- Experience with Automated Test Framework (ATF).

The Work Environment
No strenuous physical activity, though occasional light lifting of files and related materials is required. 25% of time in meetings, working with team, or talking on the phone, 75% of the time at the desk on computer, doing analytical work. Minimal travel required. Travel includes airplane, automobile travel and overnight hotel.
Physical Demands
Typically, 75% of time at the desk on computer/on phone, performing administrative work as required; 25% of time in meetings. Walking, standing, and sitting for long periods of time are routine to accomplish tasks in this role. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision and the ability to adjust focus. Ability to travel on short term notice.
Salary Transparency
The salary range for this position takes into account a wide range of factors including education, experience, knowledge, skills, geography, and abilities of the candidate, in addition to internal equity and alignment with market data. At QuidelOrtho, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The salary range for this position is $90,000 to $110,000 and is bonus eligible. QuidelOrtho offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, along with a 401(k) plan, employee assistance program, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, paid time off (including sick time), and paid Holidays. All benefits are non- contractual, and QuidelOrtho may amend, terminate, or enhance the benefits provided, as it deems appropriate.
