Position Description
The Enterprise Portfolio Management Office within McKesson Technology (MT) is a service that provides a structured & standard approach to managing the MT project portfolio of investments. Our objective is to enable MT to operate efficiently and deliver projects with high quality, optimized cost and maximized value.
This role is part of a recently reorganized EPMO leadership team and will be responsible for maturing the portfolio reporting capabilities to insights & analytics, advancing portfolio intelligence and decision making. The individual in this role will need to operate within a high level of ambiguity, have strong business acumen and translate data into consumable & actionable insights for executives. They need to be able to lead others, but also roll up their sleeves and develop reports & dashboards integrating data from multiple systems including Planview (our portfolio management tool).
Responsibilities:
- Manage a team responsible for portfolio analytics and insights, establishing a roadmap and priorities to deliver outcomes for stakeholders.
- Establish strong partnerships and drive connectivity across portfolio managers, finance and the tools team (Planview) to enable integrated and holistic reporting.
- Maintain strong business knowledge of portfolio processes, financials and technical solutions to deliver portfolio intelligence & analytics that enable outcomes.
- Define, develop and maintain a robust reporting and dashboard ecosystem (in PowerBI) in partnership with the Planview technical and portfolio team.
- Develop reporting solutions for various portfolio KPIs and metrics (e.g. On-time, on-budget) integrating data from financial systems.
- Drive data quality in reports and dashboards with effective validation and documentation.
- Transform data sets, quantitative and qualitative analysis into compelling visuals to enable actionable insights.
- Provide aggregate reporting on portfolio health and support executive presentations in a digestible and crisp format.
- Drive adoption of the portfolio dashboards through communication, training and change management.
- Perform in-depth analysis of portfolio information and deliver compelling insights in simple consumable format.
- Flex between tactical reporting and generating strategic portfolio insights, adapt the visuals and information to meet the needs of the audience.
- Provide effective coaching and management to team, establishing clear objectives, providing work direction and conducting performance reviews.
Minimum Requirements
- Typically requires 10 + years of experience, with 2+ years of people leadership experience (either direct or indirect people leadership)
Critical Skills And Experiences
- Experience with Data Modeling, PowerBI & SQL
- Data visualization expertise
- Experience defining, developing and maintaining a reporting and dashboard ecosystem (in PowerBI) in partnership with the Planview technical and portfolio team.
- Ability to convert complex data into simple visuals and summaries
- Experience with deriving analytics and insights vs solely developing reports
- Experience delivering results by collaborating and influencing business and technology delivery teams in a highly matrixed organization.
- Ability to intentionally flex between strategy and detail and adapt deliverables to different levels of the organization
Additional Knowledge & Skills
- Project and portfolio management knowledge
- Experience working with portfolio tools (Planview, etc.)
- Certification(s) in SAFe Agile, Prince2 / APM, PMP and/or Lean Six Sigma desirable
- High degree of emotional maturity and ability to remain calm and focused under pressure.
- Proven stakeholder management skills & building credibility with cross functional stakeholders
Education
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations.
