Hours Worked: Monday through Friday, forty-hours per week. However, must be flexible to meet the needs of the department and complete other projects as assigned.
Compensation Range: $19 - $20 an hour

Position Summary:
The
Analyst II is responsible for assisting in bench-based tasks material creation and characterization. The associate’s primary responsibilities will revolve around batch material creation, instrumentation usage (material characterization, accurate and detailed observation and documentation (electronically [ELN or Excel] and physically [Lab Notebook]) and maintain an organized workspace and laboratory environment. Basic laboratory practices like waste maintenance, pipetting, solution volume measurements, etc. are assumed and a candidate should have a solid foundational understanding of the function of a scientific/R&D lab. An ideal candidate for this role should have a desire or passion for; 1) working at a R&D bench daily, 2) have an eye for detail and maintain a high level of organization and 3) be able to learn additional skills through the role as needed by the client.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs sample preparation and formulation support of consumer goods.
- Apply various chemistry techniques and scientific methods given the assignment objective.
- Compiles data and communicates results through technical reports and accurate note booking.
- Performs all tasks and procedures in a regulated environment with minimal supervision.
- Always communicates effectively in a professional manner with team members and staff.
- Maintaining a clean, safe and well-organized bench setting.
- Multi-task effectively and perform additional essential tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
- Follow the guidelines set forth with clients and Company Quality, Health, Safety, Security and Environmental policies and procedures.
- Comply with clients’ and Company management systems in accordance with appropriate regulatory agencies.
- Perform other essential tasks projects and responsibilities as required.
- Other duties as defined by Manager, department needs and workload
Skills & Proficiencies:
- Familiarity with calibration, pipetting, serial dilutions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and ability to learn any new software, primarily electronic note booking and data recording.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be results-oriented and possess a high degree of accuracy.
- Excellent analytical and time management skills for success in a fast-paced environment.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in chemistry or closely related field OR
- Associate Degree in chemistry or a closely related field and 2 years of related experience
- Related undergraduate research experience
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted in lieu of above.
