The role you’ll contribute:
Prepares and organizes pharmacy medications by name and dosage, as listed on patient orders. Supports pharmacists and provides distributive pharmacy services. To provide safe and accurate medication services and to support all those involved in direct patient care.

Actively performs all pharmacy technician functions and maintains active proficiency in:

• Delivery and compounding systems
• Hospital computer systems
• Medication ordering systems
Maintains operational expertise in and actively provides coverage of the technician services provided by
• Central Pharmacy
• IV Room
• Delivery
• Controlled Substances
AND (at least one of the following):
• Oncology Compounding
• Quality Assurance & Sampling
• Technician Inventory Check
• Medication History
• Clinical Services
Oversees appropriate utilization of medication automation, technology, and computer systems
• Accurately interprets electronic records
• Maintains expertise in Cerner processes
• Manages proper and complete patient profile record
Accurately oversees the management of medication inventories and the preparation and delivery of patientspecific medication doses
• Manages medication delivery activities
• Prepares accurate medication products for delivery
• Prevents improper drug, dose, dosage form selection, expiration dating, and barcode scanning issues when checking products
• Performs oral and injectable product compounding
Facilitates medication safety practices
• Identifies, mitigates, and reports potential medication errors such as lookalike sound-alike medications
Maintains continuous learning and pharmacy practice development
• Maintains personal continuing education plan including documentation of an annual selfevaluation and plan for self-development
• Completes CE modules as part of Pharmacy Technician licensure renewal
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
· High School Degree
· One year of Contemporary hospital pharmacy experience
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:
· Registered Pharmacy Technician in their respective state
· If applicable to facility Sterile Compounding Certification
PREFFERED:
· Current certification from Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB), the Institute for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ICPT), or from the National Health Career Association (NHA)
