The community you’ll be caring for:
• AdventHealth Winter Garden has delivered care to the West Orange County since 2015 and will be expanding to add a 3-floor, 80-bed inpatient tower opening summer 2022, becoming a full-service hospital to serve the community of Winter Garden.
• The AdventHealth Winter Garden tower expansion will include new ancillary and clinical spaces such as an expanded Surgery department, Inpatient Rehab, Inpatient Dialysis, Laboratory, and Imaging services.

The role you’ll contribute: Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all. Primary responsibility is the provision of medication distributive functions and pharmacy operational tasks, which includes but is not limited to assisting the pharmacist with all duties of preparing and dispensing of medications, inventory management, and regulatory compliance. Performs duties necessary for the effective daily operation of all department services and programs. Accurately responds to medication dispensing requests, prepares medications for pharmacist final review/check, delivers checked medications, and returns unused or expired medications to appropriate pharmacy areas.
The value you’ll bring to the team:
- Actively performs all pharmacy technician functions and maintains active proficiency in standard work parameters, hospital and pharmacy specific computer systems, and operational programs
- Maintains operational expertise and competency and actively provides coverage of at least two of the following:
- Central/distributive pharmacy operations
- Sterile compounding
- Decentral/ Automated Dispensing Cabinet delivery pharmacy operations
- Controlled substance Handling AND at least one of the following:
- Hazardous Medication Sterile Compounding
- Quality Assurance & USP required sampling
- Technician Inventory Check (i.e., tech check tech where authorized)
- Medication History
- Supporting Clinical Services
- Purchasing and Inventory Management -OR- Maintains knowledge of the following:
- Central/Distributive Pharmacy
- IV Room/Sterile compounding
- Decentral/ Automated Dispensing Cabinet delivery pharmacy operations
- Controlled Substances handling AND Performs primary job function as:
- Medication History technician OR Inventory specialist
The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:
Minimum qualifications :
- High School degree or equivalent
- One year of hospital pharmacy experience (Retail or ambulatory experience acceptable for medication history function in lieu of hospital experience)
- Applicable State Pharmacy Technician Registration (RPT)
- Sterile Compounding Certification, if applicable per state legislation
- Current certification from Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB), the Institute for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ICPT), or from the National Healthcareer Association (NHA)
Preferred qualifications:
- Associates degree or technical degree in a related field or specific certification related to the position, preferably in a physical science, business or healthcare
