The Role
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Director of HR Technology to not only lead the development and operations of our HR software systems, but to help reimagine how HR digital technology can transform talent management and people processes at Moderna. This role is critical in bridging the technology and HR organizations, ensuring our HR systems are optimized to support our business goals and enhance our employee experience and culture. The Senior Director of HR Technology will manage teams across the US and Poland, as well as contractors and service providers globally. Here’s What You’ll Do
- Lead the development, implementation, and operations of HR software systems, including Workday, SAP Success Factors Learning Management System, Veeva Learning, Tableau analytics, and AWS-based data analytics and repository layer.
- Partner with HR leadership to define the long-term technical strategy and corresponding roadmap to support Moderna’s transformational HR objectives, programs and platforms
- Monitor and evaluate emerging technologies, such as AI/GPT, enterprise software, open-source technologies and other tools which can deliver transformational functionality for Moderna HR and employees
- Oversee the technical management of the company's intranet site and internal web pages built on Simpplr.
- Act as the primary liaison between the technology organization (representing the CIO) and the Chief HR Officer and their leadership team.
- Manage and mentor a globally dispersed team of engineers and technology professionals.
- Collaborate with contractors and service providers in the US and internationally to ensure seamless support for our development and operations.
- Develop and execute a strategic roadmap for HR technology initiatives that align with business objectives.
- Ensure the security, scalability, and reliability of HR technology systems.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and collaboration within the HR technology team.
- Manage an organizational budget, making decisions and trade-offs to provide optimal ROI
Basic Qualifications
Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 10+ years of progressive HRIS experience – including 5+ years’ experience managing global teams (including international service providers)
- 5+ years of experience managing a Workday engineering team.
- 1+ year experience with building and managing AI capabilities and tools
- Strong understanding of HR processes and how technology can enhance these processes.
- Proven project management experience within a corporate environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals or related regulated life sciences industry preferred.
- Experience with SAP Success Factors Learning Management System, Veeva Learning, Tableau analytics, and AWS-based data analytics and repository layers.
- Experience with Simpplr or similar intranet platforms.
- Knowledge of data security and compliance standards related to HR technology.
- Certifications in HR technology systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with senior leadership.
- Demonstrated track record of hiring, mentoring and developing/growing high performing talent.
