The Full-time VP of Franchise Portfolio Management, as a leader within Azurity’s Strategic Portfolio Management function, plans, builds and manages a balanced product portfolio through the entire lifecycle (“cradle to grave”) to meet assigned category targets within Azurity’s 5-yr financial model. They ideate, select and oversee development of a portfolio of assets within the category that fit Azurity criteria, match patient needs and market opportunity with internal technical capabilities to develop products. They also inform BD efforts to supplement what can be developed internally. They employ a wide range of techniques to determine customer needs and analyze multiple data sources to determine strategy for the category. They own the PLM process from the point of ideation through to the end of life of the product, leading cross-functional teams to drive the process for development and launch, subsequent product enhancements or line-extensions and, eventually, the decision to cease commercial efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a comprehensive subject matter expertise for the category through primary and secondary research, ad boards, market scanning, competitive intelligence and customer input.
- Ideate and select products to construct a funnel of candidates for development, each with a compelling and distinct TPP, subsequently driving progress through development, registration and launch.
- Continue to drive product enhancements and line-extensions beyond launch and plan effectively for replacement and withdrawal of commercial support at end of life.
- Own and drive PLM process stage-gates 1-9 at scale and speed (“cradle to grave”), convening and leading A3 Cross-functional teams. Ensure stage-gate criteria are met at every stage. “Push” each function to deliver effectively and to budget at each stage from development, through launch, growth and maturity. Recommend discontinuations as appropriate.
- Develop and maintain a balanced strategic plan for the category (stage, dose-form, technology etc.), managing replacement of mature assets and growing category revenues over the long-term
- Challenge business development to provide assets that supplement the internally developed portfolio
- Develop external partnerships to access new technologies and otherwise enhance portfolio development

- Bachelor’s degree
- Pharmaceuticals experience.
