Job Description
Oracle Intelligent Data Lake is an innovative new service designed to be a one-stop shop for customers to perform data analytics at scale. Providing a SaaS-like experience, Oracle Intelligent Data Lake will support critical functionalities, including data ingestion, transformation/processing, ad-hoc analytics, building data pipelines, and data governance (overall service ECAR). This service aims to cater to various use cases, such as creating a data lake and ETL pipelines, real-time streaming analytics, data sharing and governance, and developing applications like recommendation engines and predictive analytics through deeper integrations with Data Science and Generative AI.
We are seeing a skilled Software Engineer contribute towards building and maintaining multiple data plane components for this service, ranging from RBAC on all the resources to providing a simplifying SQL query interface for performing operations on the data lake to meet the diverse needs of our customers while delivering a seamless and efficient user experience.

Responsibilities
- Collaborate with a large, geographically distributed engineering team to design, develop, and deliver functionalities within the OCI Cloud service.
- Add Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) support. This will allow users to access systems and resources based on their roles and job functions, thereby enhancing security and usability.
- Contribute to the Integration and Canary Testing framework to ensure the reliability and performance of cloud service deployments.
- Support the implementation of Big Data systems, focusing on SQL capabilities in tools such as Apache Spark, Apache Hive, and others.
- Foster an open communication and teamwork environment, keeping the team focused and on schedule.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $73,700 - $158,200 per year. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

- Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
