JOB DESCRIPTION
This position serves as a Corporate EH&S leader for Amneal US locations. The EH&S leader will develop, implement and manage corporate EH&S policies, programs and practices. The individual serving in this position will be responsible for harmonizing and leading at the corporate level, the EH&S strategies to ensure that the required level of regulatory compliance across all sites is in place; as it relates to the functional compliance, documentary compliance and overall safety of employees and drug products. He will be also responsible for administration of central EH&S program, periodic EH&S compliance audits across all sites, identify gaps, and ensure risk mitigation by partnering with site leadership teams and manage escalations for challenging aspects involving business risks. The goal is to ensure the workplace meets all legal expectations and actively supports occupational health and safety in all Amneal sites. The EHS leader will actively collaborate with EHS & ESG team to bring long time sustainability in the business and to contribute subject matter expertise to initiatives development. The goal is to ensure Amneal- USA workplaces meet all legal & Regulatory expectations and actively supports occupational health and safety as well as to provide technical support and work execution in the field on engineering resolution of manufacturing mechanical or automation problems, and processes in compliance with GMP, safety, and environmental regulations throughout NY, NJ & KY locations.
Essential Functions
- Provide technical advice, coaching, guidance, and mentorship to managers, supervisors, and employees on EHS initiatives and necessary changes. Explore opportunities to increase EHS efficiency through continuous process improvements and implementing new technology ideas.
- Arrange periodic EH&S Audits and site visits to constantly identify department level regulatory, permit and compliance gaps, safety hazards and evaluate loss producing potential of a given system, operation, or process and implement sustainable and measurable solutions that ensure full compliance of all locations. Audit internal programs to determine the effectiveness and progress to be best-in-class standards
- Develop/Enforce Corporate EH&S guidance and embrace a ZERO injury / environmental stewardship culture at all Amneal locations by strategically partnering with site leaders and EH&S teams. Foster collaborative safety awareness spirit among multiple cross functions to achieve the EH&S objective.
- Lead behavioral based safety system and provide strategic mentorship to site EH&S teams. Execute EH&S related capital plans as applicable across all sites above $ 200,000 value. In consultation with engineering colleagues and industry experts, evaluate the complex (Hormonal/Potent/Solvent Based) drug platform’s safety aspects and provide facilities/utilities as necessary.
- Across all Amneal sites, Demonstrate performance in identifying and mitigating hazards and risks for the prevention of injuries and environmental constituents. Manage corporate level centralized documentation for all EH&S items and provide back end support to site EH&S teams from the records perspective. Be a liaison between site EH&S, legal and government/regulatory agencies as necessary. Assess the business risks and escalate if needed.
- Develop and execute through site teams, the EH&S training plans to educate the workforce and ensure they have the knowledge for prevention of incidents for themselves and others.
- Effectively track the changes on EH&S standards front (EPA/OSHA and other regulatory agencies) and ensure that the site teams from time to time are informed of the changes and new challenges. Be a link between the site teams and senior management and enable evolution of required EH&S infrastructure across all locations.
Additional Responsibilities
- Other duties as assigned. Oversee the waste management efforts and ensure site level compliance is adhered to.
- Performs other functions as required or assigned. Oversee Safety Committee Meeting Administration and effectiveness across all sites.
- Comply with all company policies and standards.
Education
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelors Degree (BA/BS) Engineering/ Environmental Science - Required
- Master Degree (MS/MA) Degree in Engineering / Environmental Science - Preferred
Experience
- 10 years or more in Knowledge of OSHA General Industry regulations
- 8 years or more in 8-10 years of people/project management experience.

Specialized Knowledge

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $145,000 to $165,000. Amneal ranges reflect the Company’s good faith estimate of base salary that Amneal reasonably believes that it will pay for said position at the time of the posting. Individual compensation will ultimately be determined based on a variety of relevant factors, including but not limited to, qualifications, geographic location and other relevant skills.
