Job Description
The Sr. Quality Assurance Professional at Abbott Diagnostics is responsible for conducting quality-related activities to ensure delivery of consistent, high-quality documents, services, products, and processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure regulatory compliance of healthcare products
- Define project goals, milestones, and ensure timely completion
- Provide solutions to complex problems that are compliant, innovative, and aligned with organizational objectives
- Lead or contribute to cross-functional projects and influence project direction and scope
- Implement tactical solutions and contribute functional expertise across QA functions
- Communicate effectively with management, peers, and stakeholders
- Provide guidance and training to QA professionals and technicians
- May oversee QA professionals and/or contractors
Quality And Compliance
- Ensure compliance with site, division, and corporate policies and procedures
- Maintain effectiveness of the Quality System, including subsystems and key processes
- Address non-compliance issues promptly
- Demonstrate understanding of industry standards and regulatory requirements
Risk Management
- Evaluate product safety and efficacy and escalate risk-based issues
- Create and review risk management documentation to mitigate risks
- Make independent, compliant decisions within defined parameters
Education And Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Quality or a related field (5–10 years preferred)
- Experience in the healthcare industry preferred
- Proven track record of successful project completion and compliance outcomes
Top Skills And Requirements
- Experience with SDLC activities and defect lifecycle management (authoring, reviewing, approving deliverables)
- End-to-end manual and automated testing (functional, regression, UAT)
- Strong quality mindset with ownership of tasks through completion
- Ability to quickly adapt to existing systems and processes
- Working with ALM tools (HP Quality Center)
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
- Experience with cloud-based software applications
- Understanding of cybersecurity standards
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies
