Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Senior Quality Engineer role based in Schaumburg, IL. The Senior Quality Engineer will design, implement, and maintain quality engineering frameworks, including test strategies, test automation, and performance testing for complex health care technology solutions. This role will collaborate closely with product management, development, operations, and business stakeholders to define quality requirements, analyze defects, and drive continuous improvement across the software development lifecycle. Daily responsibilities include creating and executing test plans, monitoring product quality metrics, performing root-cause analysis on issues, and ensuring compliance with internal standards and regulatory expectations. The Senior Quality Engineer will mentor other team members, champion best practices in quality engineering, and support release readiness activities to ensure safe, reliable, and high-performing products.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated expertise in Quality Engineering, including test planning, test design, automation, and performance or reliability testing.
- Strong background in Quality Assurance and Quality Control practices to validate functionality, performance, and compliance across releases.
- Experience overseeing Product Quality, including defect management, root-cause analysis, and improving overall user experience and reliability.
- Hands-on involvement in Quality Management processes, metrics, and governance to drive continuous improvement and risk mitigation.
- Proficiency with test management and automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, JUnit, TestNG, or similar), and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
- Solid understanding of software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, or Kanban) and experience working in cross-functional engineering teams.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex quality issues to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience in health care, health tech, or other regulated industries, including working with security, privacy, or compliance requirements, is beneficial.
- Prior experience in a senior or lead quality role, including mentoring team members and influencing quality standards, is preferred.
