Core Responsibilities
Quality & Compliance Excellence
- Follow and comply with all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions (WI), cGMPs, and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure all documentation is accurate, complete, and aligned with ALCOA+ data integrity principles.
- Maintain strict lot control, expiration tracking, labeling, and material status (quarantine, released, rejected).
- Support inspection readiness by maintaining compliance with internal and external audit requirements.
Operational Accuracy & Accountability
- Perform all inventory transactions using ERP/WMS and barcode scanning systems with real-time accuracy and traceability.
- Receive, verify, store, pick, pack, and ship materials in accordance with customer requirements and regulatory standards.
- Stage materials for production and manage returns from production with proper documentation and inspection.
- Assist in resolving discrepancies, non-conformances, and inventory variances following quality procedures.
- Support cycle counts, inventory reconciliation, and audit activities.
Safety & Integrity
- Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to EH&S guidelines, OSHA standards, and LOTO procedures.
- Safely load and unload materials while protecting product integrity and maintaining compliance standards.
- Use proper PPE and follow all safety protocols at all times.
Teamwork & Continuous Improvement
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless material flow and operational success.
- Provide backup support to other Material Handlers as needed.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, waste reduction, and process optimization.
- Maintain clean, organized, and compliant warehouse areas, including designated packaging facility locations.
Additional Responsibilities
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Warehouse Supervisor or Manager.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 1+ year of warehouse/material handling experience required (pharmaceutical or cGMP environment preferred)
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
Knowledge
- Familiarity with material handling equipment and forklift operation required
- Understanding of cGMP regulations and pharmaceutical material handling practices preferred
Skills & Abilities
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy, compliance, and documentation integrity
- Experience with ERP/WMS systems and barcode scanning technology
- Ability to read, interpret, and follow detailed procedures
- Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, SAP, or similar systems)
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
Licenses/Certifications
- Forklift License – Required
- Class C Driver’s License – Required
Physical Demands
- Ability to perform heavy physical work, including lifting up to 60–65 lbs
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and repetitive movement
- Ability to operate material handling equipment
- Required use of PPE such as safety glasses, hearing protection, and protective clothing
