Overview
The Supervisor I – Warehouse oversees the day-to-day warehouse operations by providing leadership, supervision, direction, and support to a team of warehouse associates within their assigned distribution center and shift. This position is responsible for directing receiving, warehousing, and distribution services to ensure materials, equipment, and supplies are provided safely and effectively to support Contec’s goals and objectives.
Responsibilities
Distribution Center Operations
- Leads by motivating, inspiring, and holding team members accountable to consistently meet or exceed departmental productivity, efficiency, safety, environmental and quality goals.
- Fosters effective associate relations by coaching and developing warehouse associates while also addressing issues and responding to their suggestions.
- Maintains receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and associate policies and procedures.
- Plans, schedules, and directs work to be performed through assigned Warehouse Leads.
- Monitors work and tracks progress against KPIs to ensure alignment with departmental goals and provides daily briefings to the Logistics Manager.
- Ensures inventory accuracy by coordinating physical counts and reconciling discrepancies within the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
- Maintains the physical condition and readiness of the warehouse by coordinating warehouse floor layout changes, equipment inspections, and repair or replacement activities in partnership with the Logistics Manager.
- Identifies and implements cost-saving opportunities to reduce transportation and operating costs while maintaining service and quality standards.
- Coordinates with customers, customer service, suppliers, and transport companies to efficiently process the dispatch of customer orders.
- Drives continuous improvement initiatives by collaborating with the Logistics Manager and Logistics Process Improvement Leader on workflow optimization, process improvements, and adoption of new technologies to enhance efficiency and quality.
Safety, Security and Housekeeping
- Supports Contec’s safety goals by ensuring warehouse associates receive timely and adequate training to perform their job duties safely.
- Safeguards warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols.
- Provides emergency response leadership as needed.
Regulatory Compliance
- Supports Contec’s compliance with federal, state, local warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements.
- Ensures warehouse associates receive timely and adequate training and enforces adherence to regulatory
Other
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge necessary to perform their role by attending training and educational workshops.
- Participates and works within ISO 9001 quality standards guidelines in accordance with Contec’s quality goals.

Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor’s degree (B.A., B.S.) from four-year College or University Business Administration, Management, Transportation, Logistics, or related field; three (3) to five (5) years related experience and/or training in warehouse and/or manufacturing operations; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proven experience in warehouse management, international shipping and receiving, import/export clearance requirements and familiarity with logistics procedures is required.
- Experience working within large-scale ERP systems and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) is also required.

While performing the duties of this job, the associate will be required to work in warehouse and production environments where they will occasionally be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, high and precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in these environments will be moderate to loud.
The associate will often work in an office environment using a laptop computer, telephone, and copier/printer. The noise level will be low to moderate. Normal office conditions and requirements will include traveling throughout the manufacturing area, frequent overtime, and occasional off-site travel.
