SUMMARY
The Payroll Specialist is responsible for processing US and international payrolls, ensuring the payrolls are timely, accurate, and in compliance with Company policies and Federal, State, and Local regulatory requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Others may be assigned.
· Processes both US (bi-weekly) and international (monthly) payrolls to include, but not limited to, loading and auditing hours, processing and paying commissions, calculating checks, reimbursements, and special pay scenarios.
· Processes bi-weekly and monthly transfers within payroll system.
· Coordinates with international payroll companies for monthly processing.
· Maintains payroll operations and the payroll database by following policies and procedures.
· Performs payroll reconciliations and maintains accurate records of payroll documents and transactions.
· Submits all third-party post payroll payments on a timely basis.
· Maintains associate confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping payroll information confidential.
· Processes associate data for salaried new hires, pay changes, garnishments, etc.
· Serves as the point-person for all payroll-related issues. Provides assistance to associates with issues or questions related to their pay (i.e., taxes, direct deposits, benefit deductions, etc.) and directs them to the appropriate internal/external resources as needed.
· Resolves payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information. Interfaces with US and international payroll providers to resolve issues when necessary.
· Prepares and files new state payroll tax and unemployment registrations as needed.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Maintains an up-to-date understanding of federal and state payroll and tax regulations, ensuring compliance and accuracy through continuous learning.
· Contributes to continuous improvement of payroll processes, documentation, and internal controls.
· Reviews and processes all travel expense reports for company personnel.
· Provides cover for switchboard for lunches and vacation of receptionist on a regular basis.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent in business, accounting, or related field; Three (3) to Five (5) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Demonstrated knowledge and experience working with integrated Payroll/HRIS systems (e.g., ADP, Paycor, Paycom, etc.) is required. Experience working with ADP Workforce Now, however, is strongly preferred.
· Demonstrated knowledge of basic accounting principles is also required.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office, with an intermediate level of skill in working with Excel (pivot tables, formulas, etc.), is required.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred.
