Director of PharmacyJob Specifics and Requirements:Area: Near Philadelphia, PA
Licensure Requirements: Must have open, active, and in good standing
PA State Pharmacist License
Education: Pharm D
Years of Experience: 3+ years of previous inpatient experience, including management experience
Schedule: Full-Time
Pay: $166,000+ DOE
Background/ Drug Requirements: Must be willing to submit to a background check, health and drug screen.
Director of PharmacyJob Responsibilities:• Oversee and manage all aspects of pharmacy operations, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
• Develop and implement strategic plans to improve pharmacy services, efficiency, and patient care
• Lead and mentor a team of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development
• Collaborate with medical staff, nursing, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal medication management and patient safety
• Manage pharmacy budget, inventory, and resources to maximize efficiency and cost-effectiveness
• Implement and maintain quality assurance programs to ensure the highest standards of pharmaceutical care
• Stay current with advancements in pharmaceutical practices and technologies, and implement innovative solutions as appropriate
• Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including vendors, healthcare providers, and regulatory bodies
• Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of pharmacy equipment and technology
• Participate in hospital committees and initiatives related to medication safety and pharmacy services
• Analyze pharmacy data and prepare reports for senior management and regulatory agencies
• Develop and update pharmacy policies and procedures in line with best practices and regulatory requirements
• Manage the pharmacy's role in clinical trials and research projects as needed
• Oversee the implementation and maintenance of pharmacy information systems
• Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of medications, including controlled substances
• Coordinate with other departments to improve interdisciplinary care and patient outcomes
• Lead initiatives to expand pharmacy services and revenue streams
• Manage pharmacy staff scheduling, hiring, and performance evaluations
• Respond to and resolve complex pharmacy-related issues and customer complaints
• Promote a culture of patient-centered care and continuous quality improvement
