An opportunity is available for an experienced clinical pharmacist to provide interim overnight coverage at a well-established hospital in Lehigh Acres, FL. This role is ideal for professionals with inpatient pharmacy experience who are comfortable managing medication verification and supervising technicians during the nighttime hours. The assignment begins August 30th and extends for 12 weeks, with a possibility of extension based on performance and facility needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Verify medication orders and ensure appropriate dispensing throughout the overnight shift
- Supervise pharmacy technicians who prepare IV medications, handle phone inquiries, and manage medication requests
- Utilize the EPIC order entry system to review and process pharmacy orders accurately
- Work with automated systems including Omnicell cabinets and robotic dispensers; training is available
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies while wearing teal scrubs or professional attire with a white coat
- Collaborate effectively with a small overnight team consisting of one pharmacist and one technician (11pm to 7am)
Qualifications And Experience
- Current Florida pharmacist license is required
- Proven inpatient pharmacist experience, preferably in a hospital setting
- Familiarity with EPIC order entry system highly desired
- Ability to comfortably supervise overnight pharmacy technicians
- Willingness to participate in training/orientation, involving at least one full 7-night shift, to ensure smooth transition to the role
Schedule & Location:
- Overnight shift from 9:00 PM to 7:30 AM, Wednesday through Tuesday on a 7-on, 7-off rotation
- Payroll week runs Sunday through Saturday
- Position located in Lehigh Acres, Florida
