An opportunity is available for an experienced clinical pharmacist to provide overnight inpatient pharmacy coverage on a 7-on, 7-off rotation. This contract role is based in Bonita Springs, FL, supporting a busy hospital with an average daily census of approximately 200 patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Verify and dispense medication orders during the overnight shift (9:00 PM 7:30 AM, Wednesday through Tuesday)
- Supervise pharmacy technician activities including IV preparation, phone inquiries, and managing medication requests
- Ensure accuracy and safety of all medication dispensing processes
- Collaborate with healthcare team to support patient care through effective medication management
- Utilize EPIC order entry system and Omnicell automation technology (robot and cabinets) with on-site training provided
- Adhere to dress code policies, wearing teal scrubs or professional attire with a white coat
Qualifications And Desired Experience
- Valid Florida pharmacist license is mandatory
- Prior inpatient hospital pharmacy experience required
- Comfortable working independently during overnight hours
- Familiarity with EPIC and automated dispensing systems preferred; training available if needed
- Ability to supervise and work alongside pharmacy technicians effectively
Additional Details
- This is a contract position starting August 30 for a 12-week assignment, with a possibility of extension
- Payroll weeks run Sunday through Saturday to align with the 7-on, 7-off schedule
- Orientation includes at least one full 7-night training shift, depending on experience
