An opportunity is available for a skilled Special Education Teacher to support students in a K-12 school setting in Boston, MA. This role is a contract-to-hire position, designed for the current school year with a full 40-hour workweek. The position involves working closely with a small group of 3-7 students exhibiting moderate to severe special education needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver tailored instructional support to K-12 students with moderate to severe disabilities.
- Manage and implement behavioral strategies for high-need students to create a positive learning environment.
- Collaborate effectively with paraprofessionals who assist in the classroom.
- Develop and adapt Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) aligned with student requirements.
- Monitor student progress and maintain detailed documentation of academic and behavioral outcomes.
- Partner with families and interdisciplinary teams to promote student achievement and well-being.
Qualifications And Experience
- Valid Special Education Teaching certification.
- Experience working with moderate to severe special needs populations from K through 12th grade.
- Proven ability to manage students with behavioral challenges.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with paraprofessionals, families, and educational staff.
