Director of Pharmacy - Pharmacist
Job Specifics and Requirements:
Area: Mobile, AL
Licensure Requirements: Must have open, active, and in good standing AL Pharmacist License
Education: Pharm. D.
Experience Needed: 3 years of Pharmacy leadership role with 5 years of experience in Pharmacy Operations
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:30-6pm
Pay: $70.00 - $75.00 DOE
Background/ Drug Requirements: Ability to successfully complete background check, health and drug screen
Director of Pharmacy - Pharmacist
Job Responsibilities:
• Oversee and manage all aspects of pharmacy operations within the organization
• Develop and implement pharmacy policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure compliance with regulations and best practices
• Lead and mentor a team of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment
• Manage inventory and purchasing of medications and supplies, optimizing costs while maintaining quality
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to improve patient care and medication safety
• Develop and maintain relationships with healthcare providers, vendors, and regulatory agencies
• Implement and oversee quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives
• Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of pharmacy equipment and technology
• Participate in budgeting and financial planning for the pharmacy department
• Stay current with industry trends, new medications, and emerging technologies in pharmacy practice
• Develop and implement continuing education programs for pharmacy staff
• Manage pharmacy informatics systems and electronic health records
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations related to pharmacy practice
• Participate in hospital committees and initiatives as a representative of the pharmacy department
• Develop and maintain emergency preparedness plans for the pharmacy
• Assume responsibility as the Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) or coordinate efforts with the present PIC to ensure effective management of pharmacy processes as needed
• Need experience with pharmacy software systems and familiarity with accreditation standards
• Experience with managing sterile and non sterile compounding operations
