The Renewal Management team retains and expands client portfolios by renewing Provider contracts and identifying growth opportunities. They secure revenue before contract end dates, initiate contractual conversations, and negotiate new terms. Collaborating with the Pricing team, they determine strategic pricing, and with Legal, they ensure contracts are updated with current Optum policies. They also streamline multi-product portfolios under singular MSLAs when applicable.
The Renewal Manager - Remote negotiates renewal contracts within our provider market, focusing on a client-centric model. They co-own renewal components in a client’s Optum portfolio, ensuring effective, timely, and compliant renewal strategies. They communicate with multiple internal departments and ensure accuracy in pricing, business terms, and approvals for all renewals.

Primary Responsibilities
- Ensures approach, pricing, terms, conditions and required internal approvals are secured and in alignment between Optum and the Client’s business goals
- Successfully manages, negotiates, and executes a high volume of contract renewals that vary in price
- Follows all requirements associated with ensuring accuracy of pricing, business terms and approvals for all renewals managed
- Reviews client contracts to ensure that the terms and conditions are consistent with current expectations internally and externally
- All documentation, approvals, and administration are tracked in Salesforce such that the renewal pipeline and resulting metrics are accurate
- Partners successfully with sales, account executives and the business units to design renewal strategies that demonstrate the value proposition as well as are consistent with pricing and service delivery expectations Able to work well independently and within and across teams, act with urgency and tenacity in solving challenges, and able to navigate complex challenges

Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of sales and/or key account management experience
- 5+ years of experience in the healthcare industry (Payer and/or Provider markets)
- Experience bringing new solutions to existing clients to drive compelling value
- Experience diagnosing client needs and recommending dynamic and complex solutions
- Experience negotiating and finalizing pricing and contracts
- Executive presentation skills
- Ability to establish collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders across a highly matrixed environment (ex. solution sales, sales support, legal, pricing, finance, etc.)
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 10%

The salary range for this role is $50,000 to $115,000 annually based on full-time employment. Role is also eligible to receive bonuses based on sales performance. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
