Ecolab is seeking a
Downstream Purification Scientist to develop chromatography processes and to advance technical platforms satisfying both business and customer needs. In this role you will be responsible for performing and leading chromatography experiments for industrial purification of monoclonal antibodies. You will work closely with field and lab based technical teams to design, execute and communicate results from process development studies experiments. What You Will Do
- Provide technical support by demonstrating strong theoretical and fundamental knowledge, in addition to practical application, specifically chromatography, and downstream unit operations, in general.
- Routinely author protocols and reports for process development studies for purification of monoclonal antibodies.
- Design, establish and execute bench-scale applications experiments using AKTA and other bench-scale chromatography system.
- Perform process screening and optimization experiments using a Tecan high-throughput system.
- Analyze samples using HPLC, SDS-PAGE, ELISA, PCR, spectrophotometry and other appropriate analytical tools to determine product purity and non-product related impurity profile.
- Develop a robust packing protocol from small-scale to production-scale chromatography columns, including P/F characterization.
- Maintaining accurate records and interpreting data to provide detailed information and analysis on the execution of experiments
- Solid critical thinking skills with the ability to communicate technical issues, resolve complex problems and propose efficient and robust solutions.
- Follow all procedures established in the lab to ensure efficiency and safety.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Minimum Qualifications
- BS required, MS or PhD in Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, Biology, Chemistry or related degree preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of proven chromatography and direct development experience in Process Development (PD) or MSAT.
- Demonstrated strong theoretical and fundamental knowledge of chromatography
- Demonstrated hands-on experience working with industrial purification process development of monoclonal antibodies
- The ability to exhibit a high level of attention to detail and a quality-minded approach to all record keeping
- Fully on-site position

- Understanding of fundamental physical/chemical properties and structural activity relationships
- Working knowledge of statistics
Annual Or Hourly Compensation Range
The pay range for this position is $83,600.00 - $125,400.00. Many factors are taken into consideration when determining compensation, such as experience, education, training, geography, etc. We comply with all minimum wage and overtime laws.
