Job Summary
The primary responsibilities of the Inventory Coordinator are to maintain organization of the Maintenance Spare Parts storage areas. Responsible for the overall management of the Maintenance spare parts inventory control system and the financial improvement expected as a result of reducing waste caused by skilled trades personnel acquiring the spare parts needed to reduce the MTTR (mean time to repair) equipment, which increases OEE.
Hourly Range: $19 – 25 /hour
Final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to experience level, education, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Responsibilities
- Maintain clean and organized storage rooms/warehouse space.
- Maintain and update inventory records
- Data entry of Bill of Materials
- Order spare parts (by writing purchase requisitions), primarily used for Maintenance activities, and stored in Maintenance storage locations.
- Follow up on orders (through use of "open order reports”, making phone calls, or writing e-mails).
- Expedite orders when we have a critical stock-out.
- Ensure good control of inventory (through performing cycle counts; managing min/max quantities; performing physical inventories (i.e.: annually); providing appropriate labeling and rearranging the crib drawers for efficient work by skilled trades personnel and yourself.
- Housekeeping: i.e.: keep crib clean, neat and safe (by putting away inventory in a timely manner; removing trip hazards, sweeping, making sure movable steps, ladders, man-lifts, hoists, etc. are maintained or replaced).
- Identify value-added suppliers. E.g.: Suppliers for Vendor Managed Inventories (VMI), where they maintain stock levels by performing weekly on-site visits to analyze stock levels to replenish to our agreed-upon stock levels.
- Develop "kits" for bundling multiple PM parts so skilled trades personnel get everything for a PM BOM in a container, ready to work on their PM routines.
- Maintain the spare parts system data base (in a computerized inventory control system), with catalogue capability for the skilled trades personnel to search on parts by Manufacturer, part number, description, etc., thus reducing time to locate and procure parts used for their jobs. New items will be added to the system, descriptions will be improved, obsolete SKUs will be removed.
- Will work closely with purchasing and accounts payable to order the correct material and services and pay appropriately (e.g.: writing change orders to match invoices for work that had been estimated incorrectly).
Requirements
- High school diploma/GED.
- Minimum 1 year of experience working in a warehouse environment with inventory control. Preferably experienced in a pharmaceutical/healthcare or food regulated industry, but not required.
- Good written and verbal communications skills as well as exemplary mathematical and research skills are necessary.
- Experience in MS Office (Word, Excel). SAP experience is desired.
- Familiar with maintenance spare parts, mechanical background is a plus.
