Job Summary
The Chief Financial Officer, MedTech, North America region (NAM), will supervise and manage the Finance / Controlling department of the Business Unit MedTech in the U.S. The CFO, MedTech will be expected to lead the overall Finance / Controlling area for the Business Unit, including the preparation and control of annual Market Unit, R&D and Central Functions’ budgets, support in annual audits, preparation of project approvals, M&A analysis and execution, and other finance/controlling related matters for the global Business Unit activities. Position will represent the Legal Entity CFO for Fenwal Inc. and is also required to closely align with other shared departments performing services to the company, such as Treasury, Tax, Compliance and Accounting as well as the Business Unit MedTech headquarters in Germany.
*This position requires working onsite 3 days per week at our Lake Zurich U.S. headquarters.
• Salary Range: $230,000-285,000
• Position is eligible to participate in a bonus plan with a target of 30% of the base salary.
• Position is eligible to participate in our medium-term incentive plan.

Responsibilities
- Define the financial strategy of the Business Unit MedTech in the U.S. including driving the annual budget and forecast process as well as the monthly reporting. Provide useful financial insights to help make better decisions about formulating and executing the business strategy.
- Provide financial leadership for U.S. Market Unit and R&D organizations, including responsibility to provide financial guidance and support for the US R&D functions.
- Lead financial aspects of potential M&A activities within Business Unit, including financial evaluation of candidates and support in structuring, negotiating and finalizing agreements, presenting to Senior Executive level and following-up integration efforts as well as acquisition tracking.
- Serve as main contact for the legal entity Fenwal Inc. regarding accounting treatment of proposed transactions and application of new accounting guidance.
- Responsible for financial consolidation of Fresenius Kabi Business Unit MedTech U.S. activities.
- Maintain adequate financial controls throughout the Business Unit, ensure proper non-financial reporting as required.
- Support Business Unit participation and representing Fenwal Inc. in financial annual audits.
- Support capital approval process for R&D projects and device placements for the Market Unit U.S.
- Oversee, and as necessary directly analyze, complex area of accounting to include valuation of intangible assets, contingent liabilities, chargeback provisions & accruals, and inability-to-supply liabilities.
- Direct finance / accounting for BU MedTech global R&D locations in addition to consolidation and controls over reporting database. Leverage financial reporting use of the SAP ERP system’s capabilities (including plant Warrendale being part of Fenwal Inc.).
Job Requirements
- Master’s degree in accounting/finance, with at least 12 years of experience required; Master’s degree management or accounting preferred.
- 10+ years’ previous experience managing people.
- Ideal candidate has experience in Finance / Controlling with mid- to large-cap, multi-national public companies followed by a management role in same Experience in financial planning, valuation, mergers and acquisitions preferred.
- Strong management and communication skills especially focused on staff and team development.
- Excellent computer skills, including complex financial modeling in Excel, expertise in Word and ability to design, manage, and use relational financial databases.
- Sound experience with SAP or other major ERP systems.
- Medical Device industry experience preferred.
