Technical Program Manager
The Engineering Operations’ team’s mission is to accelerate the outcomes of Omnicell’s Application & Cloud Engineering organization by driving programs and uniting cross-functional teams. We are looking for a best-in-class Technical Program Manager who will drive our Autonomous Pharmacy vision with the implementation of innovative cloud and connected, point-of-use edge technologies across our portfolio. This position will require a deep understanding of the latest Cloud and DevOps practices utilizing agile methodologies and apply them to further Omnicell’s vision via collaboration across both technical and non-technical teams.
Responsibilities
- Create and maintain comprehensive program management reporting, tracking, and executive messaging system with technical due diligence on architecture, design and execution
- Coordinate and facilitate quarterly planning sessions to bring Product Management and Engineering together to understand what should be worked on and how much can be accomplished along with stretch goals for the quarter.
- Be the bridge - equally comfortable explaining team's analyses and recommendations to executives as well as discussing tradeoffs with engineers and product managers to influence strategic decision making with program/project insights and holistic view across ongoing initiatives
- Support leadership in prioritization discussions for executing work to meet commitments including some elements of financial planning as it relates to program budgets and timelines
- Drive product development and release alignment with CI/CD to run on a single unified pipeline, fostering a dev-ops mindset and coaching teams on best practices.
- Driving the company’s transformation into a SaaS operating model utilizing cloud development techniques and working directly with Development teams across multiple product lines to move the transformation forward.
Required Knowledge And Skills
- Strong technical program management skills driving complex, multi-year technical programs
- Strong facilitation, communication, and coaching skills; requires hands on work with the development and product teams
- Experience in Azure, Amazon Web Services, or Google Cloud Platform based offerings
- Experience in influencing stakeholders across multiple organizations to ensure alignment, mitigate risks, manage competing priorities, and allocate resources
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Analytical skills to create and utilize reports from JIRA and other tools
- Ability to work with people at all job levels across a broad variety of job functions to coordinate cross-team projects
- Experience and proficiency of the Agile Software Development Lifecycle
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline, healthcare or business.
- 5+ years of Technical Program Management
- Strong background in cloud / SaaS engineering and release processes
- Good Understanding of Agile methodologies
Preferred Qualifications
- Masters preferred.
- Project Management certification or SCRUM certifications
- Scrum or SAFe certifications a plus
- Azure or AWS certifications a plus
- Development experience not needed but could benefit the candidate
Work Conditions
- Office Environment
- Up to 20% travel
Intake notes needs to come into Milpitas and work Hybrid as needed.
- Systems based vs HW or SW only
- If Systems is tough to find, then 60:40 in favor of HW experience
- Will be required to travel to Milpitas when needed for HW development deliverables, CA desirable, Bay area even better
- SW developed in India, so time zone management will be essential
- This TPM or Sr. TPM will be required to balance those time zones, consolidate the schedules and be part of a CA based core team of cross-functional members where they will represent Eng development as a whole

Nice to haves
- Familiar with phase gate processes
- Experience in medical products (but will take someone who has worked with multiple varying products/ industries)
