Planner/Scheduler IV
The job function of the
Planner/Scheduler IV is to manage the processing and scheduling of production orders.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for scheduling the factory at linear capacity to meet customer requirements.
- Ensures company production and inventory control strategies are consistently followed and applied. Executes, plans and schedules processes that drive production efficiency, meeting/exceeding customer service targets and delivering inventory targets. Reviews all Engineering Change Orders (ECO) for new parts, Bills of Materials (BOMS) and BOM changes. Updates SAP planning data and incorporates changes to all open builds as required per ECO dispositions. Performs other duties as assigned.
- Utilizes SAP as the primary ERP system to schedule the factory, and analyzing data used in making business decisions. Utilizes Windows desktop applications to prepare reports and analysis as required (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Prepares deliverables for PDP checkpoints and transitions manual pre-production planning into the ERP system once ERP Item Master data and BOMS are available.
- Maintains forecast demand for all products , including Pre-Production, initial Product Launch quantities, and sustained Production quantities. Analyzes and sets appropriate stocking levels for critical and long lead parts. Identifies excess, obsolete and end of life inventories on a quarterly basis. Executes stocking processes and KanBan replenishment systems while utilizing Lean Manufacturing practices. products
- Publishes daily shortage reports and priority lists for procurement and incoming quality inspection. Maintains accurate inventory shortage report and work with team to resolve issues. Creates and maintains reports that effectively communicate information against established business objectives.
- Oversees and schedules all production builds per the Master Schedule, in accordance with customer delivery requirements, KANBAN replenishment and Service requirements for factory. Investigates production problems, analyzes root cause and provides solutions.
- Executes the master production schedule with Purchasing, Receiving, Quality and Production. Expedites any shortages affecting the Production Schedule. Works with Procurement, Production, Engineering and Quality to mitigate issues. Provides day-to-day guidance to Planning team.
- Strong professional communications, both written and verbal; collaborating behaviors that establish strong working relationships.
- Develops solid planning processes across various and complex product types, Including configured/make to order products, high volume consumables, and low volume/large machines
- Creates process maps, generate work instructions and trains junior peers.
- As needed, c ompletes required deliverables from Product Development Process (PPGM) checkpoints. Generate manual MRP data as required until BOMS are structured within the ERP system. Transition manual pre-production planning into the ERP system as soon as ERP Item Master data and BOMS are available. Schedule all NPI builds per the Project Schedule. Maintain accuracy of Order BOMS incorporating ECO changes and report the status of builds.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Ability to simultaneously manage multiple priorities and / or projects in a fast paced environment
- Exceptional organization, problem solving, planning and prioritizing skills with a high level of accuracy
- Advanced knowledge of supply chain processes and procedures including manufacturing planning, MRP, KanBan, and Just-in-Time (JIT) replenishment systems
- Strong written and verbal communications and presentation skills
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- MS Office, data management and analytical software skills (Excel, Tableau, PowerPoint)
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Minimum 10+ years production planning and inventory control experience in a manufacturing environment.
Preferred Knowledge and Skills:
- SAP SME in MM/PP
- CPIM Certification
- Advanced MS Office, data management and analytical software skills (Excel, Tableau, PowerPoint)
Work Conditions:
- Minimal travel (>10%).
- Some extended or irregular work hours.
