Location/Division Specific Information
This position is part of the Cell Culture Cell Therapy Business Unit within the Bioproduction Division at Thermo Fisher Scientific.
The perfect candidate can work remotely and travel to US and Europe sites, meet customers, and work with R&D, Commercial, and other functional teams.
We are seeking a dedicated Product Manager to join our Cell Therapy team in the US. The Product Manager will be responsible for market and product strategy for a growing business segment passionate about Cell Therapies. They will lead global product strategies, drive innovative solutions to customer challenges, and provide market leadership in the development of innovative products.
The position reports to the Director of Product Management for Cell Therapies. It is responsible for identifying future product requirements and improving the customer experience in the field of cell therapies.
What will you do?
- Lead & run programs from concept to commercialization (full product lifecycle). Responsible for developing five year product strategies, and pricing/margin optimization
- Ensure responsible and accountable life cycle management for specific products, including product complaints
- Responsible for working closely with the cross functional teams and ultimately to deliver customer and financial success of new product introductions (NPIs)
- Responsible for revenue, customer happiness, and market share objectives.
- Act as the main advocate for the product, collaborating with internal collaborators, marketing and commercial teams at both global and regional levels, as well as directly with customers, including key accounts.
- Effective performers establish and champion relationships with field organizations, like sales and technical support. This includes actively participating in sales activities, such as customer visits and customer support, and receiving training.
- Facilitate the Voice of Customer (VOC), enabling data driven decision-making across the portfolio
- Develops product development, positioning, and go-to market strategies to enable financial objectives.
- Develop arguments for investments and present them to peers and leadership.
- Provide product management support in business negotiations
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry or a related field required, or equivalent experience
- Master’s degree in scientific field or equivalent experience strongly preferred
Required Experience
- Minimum 3+ years’ experience in product management or product development & commercialization role, plus competitive market research skills
- Basic knowledge of the fundamental concepts of intellectual property, patents and contract law
- Knowledge of cell therapy market regulations and manufacturing quality standards an advantage
- Highly diligent, efficient, and organized approach
- Experience working directly with customers.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Products: PowerPoint, Excel, PowerBI.
- Self-starter with the ability to build and implement plans with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work in matrix organizational structure.
- Outcome orientation and a strong desire to plan to measure the success of initiatives.
Travel: approximately 30% globally
