Primary Responsibilities
- Accountable to sell Optum Behavioral Health solutions to new and / or existing Employer clients
- Responsible for individual growth quota to expand and ensure delivery of Optum's Behavioral Health solutions
- Partner with client executives and / or client managers, or work independently to sell and / or manage sales opportunities for Behavioral Health solutions to Employer clients
- Possess or develop deep subject matter expertise and knowledge of Optum Behavioral Health solutions and overall Behavioral Health industry and employer buying behavior/strategic challenges
- Participate in, and at times own / lead, sales process and client engagement through the sale, coordinating with all necessary parties (ex. legal, pricing, finance, etc.) to close a sale
- Engage, build relationships and sell Optum Behavioral Health solutions in partnership with consultants and in partnership with Optum Consultant Relations
- Develop consultative relationships and be a trusted advisor to the client to demonstrate how Optum can provide value for the client to meet their objectives and improve the health system
- Ability to work independently as a solid team player with minimal supervision in a high paced, high intensity environment
- Communicate and present effectively with diverse audiences and levels (listening, written and verbal communication)
- Ability to solution creatively in partnership with the business, balancing the objectives and priorities of the business with the voice of the customer in both individual opportunities and at the employer market level

Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of proven experience and expertise in healthcare, specifically behavioral health
- 5+ years sales, account management experience
- Experience in diagnosing client needs and recommending solutions that have measurable and positive business impact
- Successful track record of advising on and / or selling Behavioral Health / EAP products in the Employer market
- Deep understanding of the EAP / BH industry, market trends and forces generating market shifts and the needs of employers across the full spectrum of the market (local, mid-market, strategic etc)
- Demonstrated success in leading a consultative sales experience in a highly collaborative, cross-functional approach to sales
- Demonstrated ability to effectively lead and drive the sales process and work cooperatively with a team to achieve sales goals
- Ability to travel frequently, up to 70%
Preferred Qualifications
- Direct experience achieving and / or directly contributing to $50M+ in sales annually for behavioral health solutions
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and CRM (ex. Salesforce)
- Proven ability to operate and effectively navigate in a highly complex, matrixed environment with a high level of collaboration

Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $70,000 to $155,000 annually. Role is also eligible to receive bonuses based on sales performance. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
