As the VP of Clinical Strategy & Enablement you will report to the Chief Clinical Officer (CCO). You will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the Clinical Consulting vision and strategy spanning clinical account management, clinical products, drug trends, and specialty medication strategy.
This key leadership position drives strategic and operational excellence within the Clinical Consulting team helping to enhance client satisfaction, patient access, and outcomes.
You will work collaboratively with leaders and teams across Optum (including Clinical Consulting, Product, Operations, Analytics, and Specialty) to ensure cross-functional alignment, efficiency, and partnerships.

Primary Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and oversee the Clinical Consulting vision, strategic plan, and business portfolio to ensure strategic clarity and performance
- Operational Optimization: Streamline the operational model and continuously improve business processes to maximize efficiency, resource utilization, and subject matter expertise
- Integrated Roadmap Creation: Establish a cohesive business roadmap aligned with organizational objectives, ensuring clear integration and execution with key delivery partners
- Performance Management: Develop and track KPIs/MBOs to align with goals, ensuring progress is monitored and maintained across the leadership team
- Stakeholder Engagement: Establish formal alignment processes that foster collaboration among key stakeholders to enhance product development and efficiency across functions
- Transformation & Governance: Apply operational expertise to identify growth opportunities and optimize governance structures, ensuring effective business rhythms, meeting cadences, and delivery tools
- Strategic Initiatives: Identify and lead strategic initiatives and critical projects on behalf of the CCO and Clinical Consulting leadership team (e.g. - talent, product enhancements/penetration, high-priority trends, ad-hoc client or stakeholder needs)

Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of increasing leadership scope with demonstrated experience building, leading, and developing teams
- 5+ years of experience with strategy development, program design, and end-to-end implementation management (including delivery mechanics, operational optimization, team structures, and change leadership)
- Deep experience in healthcare and/or pharmacy strategy, transformation, and operations with a comfortability translating clinical concepts into business strategy
- Leadership experience using Agile methodology, preferably managing the creation, support, or delivery clinical program roadmaps, developing business and technology requirements, and ensuring proper prioritization and value
- Experience gathering & analyzing multifaceted data and distill into key strategies, analysis, themes, and trends with data infrastructure and strategy in a healthcare and/or pharmacy setting
- Advanced organizational, written, and oral communication skills with fluency in the creation and delivery of executive-level presentations, deliverables, and cross-functional communications

- Experience with Tableau dashboards

Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $147,300 to $282,800 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
