The DME Dispatch Technician is responsible for the timely delivery and pickup of patient equipment and supplies.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate delivery/pick-up times with patients in a timely and efficient manner
- Transport and deliver equipment and supplies for each patient in a safe and secure manner. Report any damage to Operations Manager
- Explain each document in the New Patient Packet to the patient/client or caregiver
- Educate the patient/client or caregiver of their rights and responsibilities
- Ensure the patient/client or caregiver understands the proper use and care of the equipment delivered
- Maintain all paperwork necessary for each delivery such as: daily route log, equipment log, and route log
- Pick-up and return equipment upon request of physician/patient/client/caregiver
- Clean and service equipment according to policies and procedures
- Maintain inventory and record all medical equipment and supplies received and delivered
- Keep warehouse clean and organized
- Maintain professional appearance and attitude at all times and serve as a good-will liaison between the company and customer or any other individuals encountered within the scope of employment
- When assigned, responsible for on-call duties 24 hours a day and maintaining on-call log
- Responsible for knowing and complying with applicable policies and procedures
- Immediate reporting of any accidents or mishaps while on company time to Operations Manager
- Other duties as assigned
