Oversees the clinical pharmacy and specialty pharmacy GPO operations. Specialty Pharmacy GPO operations responsibilities include business development support, new member onboarding and optimization, and liaison with Specialty GPO partner. Clinical Operation responsibilities include clinical pharmacy board leader, clinical initiatives that impact drug utilization, clinical education and staff development, operational optimization of drug products, management of appropriate drug utilization through clinical pathway development, pharmacoeconomic analysis, and quality improvement activities.
What you will do in this role includes:
- Facilitate clinical pharmacy advisory board meetings and content presented
- Collaborate with drug information services, analytics team, and pharmacy sourcing team to develop clinical and contracting strategies for HealthTrust members
- Develops Key Performance Indicators and Dashboards related to Specialty Drug Utilization
- Support business development and sales team as the knowledge expert in growing the specialty pharmacy GPO
- Develop and track reporting of Specialty GPO purchases to assist members in optimizing savings
- Assists in development of “best practice” recommendations for all areas of outpatient and specialty drug management
- Coordinate with managed care pharmacy leader, 340B leader, and other outpatient focused leaders to develop insights and tools for Healthtrust members
- Analyze new drug pipeline for contract opportunity and member awareness
- Develop patent exclusivity reports to identify and track generic, biosimilar, and 505b2 drug launches
- Collaborate with pharmacy sourcing leads to develop a contracting workplan utilizing patent exclusivity reports, clinical best practices, guideline changes, and other market dynamics
- Work with pharmacy leadership to analyze drug spend trends to identify areas of opportunity and implement appropriate use/development of protocols and guidelines
- Provides supporting documentation, “white papers” or other information needed to facilitate P&T Committee preparation as needed
- Assists in development of “best practice” recommendations for clinical and operational procedures to minimize adverse events and ensure compliance with regulatory standards
- Practice and adhere to the “Code of Conduct” philosophy and “Mission and Value Statement”
- Ability to grow and lead the Specialty GPO team to meet member growth and needs.
What qualifications you will need:
- Doctor of Pharmacy degree required
- Masters degree in business or healthcare related field preferred
- 7 or more years of experience as a clinical coordinator/manager, director of pharmacy, or director of specialty pharmacy GPO experience required
- Proficient computer skills using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
- Public speaking and presentation skills
