The
Vice President, Strategy – Data & Digital is responsible for supporting the refinement and execution of the Data & Digital (D&D) business unit strategy. As a trusted advisor to the D&D leadership team, this role will partner closely with the business to challenge strategic thinking, clarify strategic choices, and ensure alignment with broader organizational goals. This role will help identify capability gaps, shape go-to-market strategies, guide the development of an M&A roadmap, and serve as a connector between the D&D unit and other enterprise functions. Additionally, the VP will manage special projects assigned by the President of D&D to advance strategic priorities. Although this role is an individual contributor, the VP will leverage shared resources within the Office of Strategy Management and drive results through influence. This role has dual reporting responsibilities to the enterprise CSO and the President, D&D.
Role Responsibilities
- At the direction of the President, Data & Digital guide and enable the business unit leadership team in refining and executing the D&D Strategy, ensuring alignment with broader enterprise goals.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to the D&D leadership team, challenging assumptions and providing tailored insights to support informed decision-making.
- Develop a deep working knowledge of the business, key value drivers, and customer needs, while staying current with emerging technologies and trends in healthcare, continuously evaluating their potential impact on the business unit strategy.
- Guide the development of a comprehensive M&A roadmap to support strategic growth objectives for the D&D unit, identifying potential acquisition targets, and assessing strategic fit. Collaborate with BU leadership and the corporate development team to evaluate and execute M&A opportunities.
- Establish repeatable processes related to strategic planning efforts that improve and accelerate strategic decision-making (e.g., build/buy/partner analysis, M&A identification and selection, etc.)
- Collaborate with the D&D leadership team to shape and refine their go-to-market strategy, ensuring a strong market position and durable competitive advantage.
- Act as a liaison between the D&D unit and other shared services teams, fostering alignment and coordination across the enterprise.
- In partnership with D&D leadership, proactively identify and address barriers to execution.
- Lead special projects as assigned by the President of D&D to advance key strategic objectives, providing project leadership and insights.
Qualifications/Requirements
- 15+ years of Progressive experience in consulting, corporate strategy, or related roles. 5-10 years of direct experience facilitating executive teams to make strategic decisions and leading teams of higher -level professionals.
- Masters degree preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to build trusted advisor relationships and influence others at all organizational levels.
- Deep understanding of the healthcare industry, with specific expertise in provider trends.
- Strong business and financial acumen, with the ability to analyze complex data and derive strategic insights.
- Experiencing solving strategic problems in the data and technology domains.
- Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas to diverse audiences.
- Proven capacity to retain and apply information and instructions to new, evolving tasks.
- Experience leading large-scale initiatives that deliver measurable results.
- Ability to expertly navigate large, matrixed organization.
Estimated Hiring Range
At Vizient, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. Geographic factors may adjust the range estimate and hires typically fall below the top range. Compensation decisions are tailored to individual circumstances. The current salary range for this role is $187,800.00 to $328,600.00.
