This is a summer internship opportunity in Norwood, MA from
June 2, 2025 – August 15, 2025. Applicants must be available for the entire duration of the internship.
Start date will be June 2, 2025.
The Logistics Engineering organization at Moderna is looking for top talent in logistics and engineering to deploy, monitor and engage in continuous improvement of cold chain, supply chain visibility and secondary distribution requirements across the Moderna organization. You will apply your educational background and learn new technical skills related to thermal engineering, equipment qualification, passive packaging qualification, IoT temperature monitoring, supply chain visibility and end to end cold chain stability management.
Here’s What You’ll Do
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders such as Manufacturing, Distribution/Logistics, and Quality to support new shipping system implementation activities at internal and external sites.
- Author SOP’s Work Instructions, Policies and other documentation related to Cold Chain management
- Support technical transfer Distribution and Cold Chain operations at CMO and 3PL sites including the handling, storage, and shipping of cold chain products.
- Engage in Logistics Engineering / Supply Chain visibility projects (i.e. real time and temperature tracking, digital twins and IoT analytics
- Execute studies related to IoT temp monitoring, passive packaging qualifications,
- Review, analyze and present temperature data reports related to past and current shipments
- Support internal investigations and implement corrective actions related to non-conformities of cold chain compliance.
- Develop and maintain cold chain metrics and reporting.
Here’s What You’ll Need (Minimum Qualifications)
- Current student enrolled in a Bachelors or Masters program in technology, engineering, or related field.
- Strong fundamental scientific and engineering skills for the evaluation of thermal and IoT data
- Laboratory skills applicable to bioprocess development and analytical methods
- Well organized – a natural ability to be organized in how you think, communicate, and conduct your work.
- Interest and experience with SAAS based supply chain visibility platforms and IoT devices
- Interest and experience with AI/ML

- GPA of 3.5 on a 4 scale or equivalent
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently as well as the ability to contribute to high performing teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
