Inpatient Pharmacist – Pittsburgh, PA (Contract-to-Hire)
We are seeking an Inpatient Pharmacist for an ASAP start in Pittsburgh, PA. This is an 8+ week contract-to-hire opportunity for the right fit. We are ideally seeking a local candidate, with travel options available if needed.
Location: Pittsburgh, PA
Term of Assignment: 8+ weeks Contract-to-Hire for the right fit
Schedule: Monday – Friday (7:30 AM – 4:00 PM)
Pay: $65/hour
Job Duties:
- Review and verify medication orders
- Perform prospective medication reviews for appropriateness, dosing, interactions, allergies, contraindications, and duplicate therapy
- Dispense medications and ensure medications are accurately prepared and available for scheduled administration
- Support unit-dose medication distribution and medication supply to inpatient units
- Oversee and maintain medication inventory, including ordering, receiving, storage, expiration-date monitoring, and controlled-substance management
- Monitor and maintain Automated Dispensing Machines (ADMs) and ensure appropriate medication availability on the units
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, physicians, nurses, and other members of the interdisciplinary treatment team regarding medication therapy
- Provide medication information and recommendations to clinical staff
- Monitor patients' medication regimens and identify potential medication-related problems
- Assist with medication reconciliation, documentation, and maintaining accurate pharmacy records
Requirements:
- Active Pennsylvania Pharmacist license in good standing
- Prior hospital/inpatient pharmacy experience preferred
Local candidates are preferred. Travel candidates will be considered.
