We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated
Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) Manager to lead and manage all environmental, health, and safety programs for our manufacturing facility. This position will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive programs that promote a safe and environmentally responsible workplace while ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
The EH&S Manager will serve as the primary resource and leader for environmental and safety matters across the facility. This individual will work collaboratively with all levels of the organization to build a strong safety culture, identify and mitigate risks, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive continuous improvement in EH&S performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the facility's environmental, health, and safety programs.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable OSHA, EPA, state, and local environmental and safety regulations.
- Establish and maintain policies, procedures, standards, and training programs designed to prevent workplace injuries and illnesses.
- Conduct regular facility inspections, risk assessments, job hazard analyses, and safety audits.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, near misses, and environmental events; identify root causes and implement effective corrective actions.
- Manage required environmental programs, permits, reporting, inspections, and compliance activities.
- Maintain accurate EH&S records, documentation, and regulatory reporting.
- Develop and deliver safety and environmental training for employees, supervisors, and management.
- Partner with operations, maintenance, engineering, human resources, and leadership to identify and resolve EH&S risks.
- Lead initiatives focused on employee engagement, hazard recognition, behavioral safety, and continuous improvement.
- Monitor facility performance through appropriate EH&S metrics and provide regular reporting to leadership.
- Coordinate emergency preparedness and response programs, including drills and response procedures.
- Manage relationships with regulatory agencies, consultants, contractors, and other external resources as needed.
- Support the development of annual EH&S objectives, budgets, and improvement plans.
- Promote a proactive culture in which every employee understands and accepts responsibility for workplace safety and environmental stewardship.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Progressive experience in environmental, health, and safety management within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
- Demonstrated experience developing and implementing safety and environmental programs.
- Experience with incident investigation, root-cause analysis, risk assessment, and corrective action processes.
- Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently while maintaining a high level of accountability.
- Experience with regulatory inspections, audits, permitting, and compliance reporting preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certification such as CSP, ASP, CIH, CHMM, or other relevant EH&S certification.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment with industrial equipment and processes.
- Experience leading safety culture and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Working knowledge of environmental management systems and safety management systems.
