Automation Service Attendant (Production)
Starting Pay: $25.75/hr
$2.00/hr Shift Differential for Off Shift

SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Production Supervisor, the Automation Service Attendant operates forklift and/or other mobile equipment, moving materials inside production. In addition, loads cartons onto the carton erector, keeping label equipment supplied with ink and label stock, keeping baggers supplied with bags, performing necessary product quality inspection, cleaning day bins and making necessary computer adjustments for all line changes, and performing reselection of ware as needed. Required to operate presses as a blended job (back-up Operator).
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Performs all tasks necessary to operate mobile equipment according to procedure.
Actively communicates with coworkers – key items within the plant environment on safety, quality, maintenance, production and continuous improvement.
Follows work instructions as needed and may be asked to write, revise and train others to those instructions.
Performs root cause analysis when problems arise to determine if actions can be taken immediately, or appropriate personnel need to be called.
Be able to perform color changes and appropriate line clearance procedures when needed.
Maintains 5S environment in work area.
Sweeps any debris from work area in the production area and machinery.
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds independently, or up to 70 pounds in team-lift scenario, as well as move up to 200 pounds.
Adheres to plant and corporate safety policies.
May assist in other areas or perform other duties as required by fluctuating business needs.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
Possesses well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.
Possesses or willingness to acquire forklift certification.
Ability to work in a high paced and multi-task environment.
Maintains positive team environment.
Ability to read, write and follow written or verbal instructions.
Ability to speak, read and write English.
Possesses basic math skills.
Understands basic machine operation.
Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
