Job Summary And Qualifications
The Production Specialist I provides high-quality, cost-effective turnaround of incoming print jobs in a customer-centric production environment. Maintains a consistent and efficient flow of print orders to Production in a timely manner. Creates accurate estimates for incoming orders, works with vendors for estimating and coordinating outsourced orders as needed. Interfaces professionally with staff and clients as required in order to get work accurately completed. Attends and contributes to the daily production meetings.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide exceptional customer service and support to assure production work requirements are clearly defined and that timeframes and cost factors are given appropriate consideration.
- Communicate the status of jobs, any unique circumstances relating to jobs, etc. to Clients, Production or Design staff as needed.
- Review printing requests and assigns projects to Production or Design for completion, unless automatically assigned through MIS/W2P.
- Appropriately interface with co-workers and customers as required.
- Complete and maintain all required paperwork, print requests, documents, etc. Keep job ticket information complete, accurate and current.
- Download orders from a MIS/W2P system, review them and enter them into production. Generate accurate estimates, obtain vendor quotes, coordinate/facilitate outsourcing and update the production schedule for the print shop to follow.
- Maintain up to date proficiency in job related software applications including MIS/W2P work automation tools.
- Responsible as technical consultant for all print/copy equipment. Must be familiar with system limits and requirements needed for optimum production.
- Maintain daily status of printing jobs completed so that work is completed at 99% on time rate. Advises Print Services Manager ahead of time of any jobs that will not meet the completion date.
Qualifications required for the position:
- High school education/GED Required
- 3 years printing industry experience with first-hand knowledge of offset and digital printing, bindery, shipping, estimating, job creation and planning, customer service and vendor relations and outsourcing.
