As a Hospital Services Manager, you will oversee healthcare waste operations and customer service programs for assigned hospital and healthcare system accounts. This role serves as the primary operational and relationship leader for hospital customers, ensuring safe, compliant, efficient, and customer-focused execution of medical waste, hazardous waste, sharps, pharmaceutical waste, and related service programs. Candidates must reside in Maryland, Pennsylvania, or Virginia to support regional operational and customer needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary operational point of contact for assigned hospital and healthcare system accounts.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with hospital leadership, including EVS, Facilities, Nursing, Safety, Infection Prevention, and other stakeholders.
- Ensure all contracted services are executed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with customer expectations and company standards.
- Oversee daily hospital waste operations including staffing coordination, scheduling, inventory management, and operational performance.
- Supervise and support hospital waste technicians, leads, coordinators, and onsite personnel while ensuring adequate staffing coverage.
- Monitor operational trends, waste volumes, service efficiencies, and container utilization to identify improvement opportunities.
- Respond to customer concerns, escalations, operational disruptions, and critical service issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Conduct operational, compliance, and safety audits while ensuring adherence to DOT, HIPAA, medical waste, hazardous waste, and other regulatory requirements.
- Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Compliance, Transportation, Hazardous Waste, and Customer Service teams to support service execution and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support hospital installations, new program rollouts, renovations, and service expansion projects while minimizing disruption to operations.
- Other additional duties as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Environmental Services, Operations Management, or related field preferred; equivalent work experience considered.
- Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in healthcare services, environmental services, waste management, logistics, or related operational environments preferred.
- Experience working within hospitals or regulated healthcare environments strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience leading teams, managing customer relationships, and driving operational performance.
- Strong understanding of safety, compliance, and regulatory requirements in healthcare or industrial service environments.
- Strong communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and operational reporting tools.
- Ability to travel frequently, including overnight travel as needed.
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, customer-focused, highly regulated healthcare environments.
