What You Get To Do
The Software Release Specialist works with the project’s Software Core Team to plan, coordinate, and execute software releases across development, testing, commissioning, and onsite. Working under the guidance of IT Project Management and the project’s Software Core Team, this role ensures releases follow defined processes, timelines, and quality standards while building foundational experience in enterprise software delivery.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Organizes software release planning and execution activities for assigned projects, including maintaining` release schedules, milestones, and calendars under guidance
- Coordinates required release inputs, including development status, testing results, and commissioning readiness
- Prepares, maintains, and tracks release documentation, including readiness checklists, release notes, release issues, approved decisions, deployment records, and Requests for Change (RFCs)
- Tracks release dependencies, risks, and issues; documents findings and serves as primary escalation point for concerns (release risks, delays, or deviations ) to IT Project Managers or designated leadership
- Supports root‑cause analysis activities and corrective action tracking under the guidance of senior team members
- Facilitates release coordination meetings as directed and communicates release schedules, dependencies, and impacts to project stakeholders
- Works collaboratively with Software Development, Quality Assurance, Commissioning, and IT teams to support coordinated release execution
- Follows established release management processes, tools, documentation standards, and reporting requirements
- Contributes ideas for continuous improvement initiatives to enhance release predictability, quality, and efficiency based on observed process gaps
- Ensures release activities are aligned with business objectives, customer commitments, and contractual or regulatory requirements.
- Supports executive‑level discussions by providing clear assessments of release readiness, risks, and trade‑offs.
What You Have
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Logistics, or related field preferred, or equivalent experience
- 0–2 years of experience in software delivery coordination, IT support, engineering support, or project coordination
- Internship or co‑op experience in IT, logistics software, or automation environments preferred
- Foundational understanding of software delivery lifecycles (Development, Testing, Commissioning, Go‑Live)
- Exposure to release management, issue tracking, or version control tools
- Basic understanding of system interfaces and enterprise software dependencies
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, operate under pressure, and maintain high standards of accuracy, reliability, and accountability.
Working Conditions and Environment:
- Authorization to work in the U.S.
- Travel required up to 20%
- Passport or ability to obtain passport
- Professional office etiquette is required at all times
- Ability to travel by air both domestically (US) and internationally (primarily to Austria and other parts of Europe as well as Canada)
- Physical requirements: sitting for long periods of time, standing, walking, climbing a ladder, speaking, visual acuity, finger dexterity, listening, reaching at arm’s length, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
