Responsibilities
- Accountable for management, oversight and operations of all aspects within the pharmacy consistent with professional, ethical, and legal standards of proper pharmacy practice.
- Responsible for the supervision of pharmacy staff involved in the pharmacy workflow including hiring, training, data entry, verification and dispensing of medications.
- Responsible for drug purchasing and inventory controls of the pharmacy.
- Ensure that billing & remittance documents are completed in an accurate and time sensitive manner.
- Meets with pharma representatives and maintains knowledge of therapeutics, pricing and patient assistance programs.
- Monitor and make recommendations to fulfillment staff on inventory management.
- Assist in the development of a management reporting dashboard.
- Creates ad hoc reports for management.
- Addresses HCP pharmaceutical issues and drug information questions.
- Ensures literacy level of patient information appropriate for consumer.
- Ensures annual review and update of patient education material as necessary.
- Develops and implements patient and medication therapy management program.
- Review, edit and approve all marketing and web-site information prior to publication.
- Ensures that qualified clinicians are accountable to the organization for decisions affecting consumers.
- Maintain Quality Assurance tracking program.
- Ensure confidentiality of patient information and their records, and destruction of relevant documentation which contains patient information.
- Perform all tasks in a safe and compliant manner that is consistent with corporate policies as well as State and Federal laws.
- Work collaboratively with other pharmacies/staff and upper level management team.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Directly supervises pharmacy staff in accordance with company policies and applicable laws including interviewing, hiring, and training; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy or PharmD
- Minimum of 2 years of retail pharmacy experience.
- Current licenses in good standing to practice pharmacy in the state of Florida.
- Ability to supervise pharmacy staff in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
- Strong communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing, to interact with a wide variety of individuals to successfully provide optimal patient care.
- A passion for outstanding customer service, professionalism, and teamwork.
- Computer experience mandatory. Ability to operate various pharmacy software programs/equipment proficiently.
