The Pharmacist provides patient education and ongoing clinical evaluation with relation to specialty medications and disease state management. The Pharmacist position is full-time at the TMH Specialty Pharmacy.

Responsibilities
- This position carries the responsibility to ensure accurate and quality pharmacy and customer service delivered in a professional manner in accordance with current federal, state, local standards, guidelines, and regulations.
- Verifies and assists physicians with medication selection, dosage calculations as well as maintaining accurate dispensing records and patient records for each patient that is cared for by the pharmacy.
- Interpret and fill drug orders.
- Provide patient information and counseling.
- In the absence of the Pharmacist-In-Charge/Pharmacy Manager, may be required to act as the alternate store leader, responsible for managing ongoing functions of the pharmacy.
- Contact and confer with physicians regarding questions or irregularities on prescriptions.
- Dispense prescriptions, compound, and prepare I.V. admixtures (if applicable).
- Monitor drug therapy for contraindications, interactions, allergies and appropriateness.Maintain patients’ medication records.
- Maintain inventory and records of controlled drugs and other drugs as required by law.
- Supervise pharmacy technicians in routine performance of their duties.
- Provide drug information to professional staff and patients as necessary.
- Participate in inventory control programs such as ordering, inventorying and monitoring correct pricing and quantities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy or PharmD.
- Minimum of 2 years of pharmacist experience.
- Specialty Pharmacy experience preferred.
- Current licenses in good standing to practice pharmacy in the state of Florida.
- Ability to supervise pharmacy staff in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
- Strong communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing, to interact with a wide variety of individuals to successfully provide optimal patient care.
- A passion for outstanding customer service, professionalism, and teamwork.
- Computer experience mandatory. Ability to operate various pharmacy software programs/equipment proficiently.
