Position Summary
The Plastics Process Engineer is responsible for maintaining, improving, and supporting all injection‑molding manufacturing processes within the assigned production area. This role ensures that processes are stable, efficient, and capable of meeting safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets. The Process Engineer works closely with Production, Quality, and Maintenance teams to reduce variability and improve overall performance.
You’ll play a key role in improving efficiency, reducing waste, and ensuring stable, high‑quality production in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and adjust process parameters for all injection‑molding lines.
- Ensure standard operating procedures and process documentation are accurate.
- Monitor process capability and address deviations on the production floor.
- Improve OEE, scrap, cycle times, and first‑pass quality.
- Lead root‑cause analysis and structured problem‑solving activities.
- Support Lean initiatives and cost‑reduction efforts.
- Support IQ/OQ/PQ activities for new or modified injection‑molding processes.
- Follow change‑control procedures and conduct risk assessments (FMEA).
- Ensure compliance with ISO, GMP, and other applicable standards.
- Partner with Maintenance on preventive maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Support installation, trials, and qualification of new molding equipment.
- Analyze downtime and implement corrective actions.
- Review SPC data and process trends.
- Conduct capability studies and support performance dashboards.
- Identify and address systemic process risks.
- Ensure molding processes run consistently across all shifts.
- Audit parameter adherence and standardize troubleshooting guidelines.
- Adjust molding parameters within approved limits
- Recommend production holds for technical issues
- Initiate engineering change requests

Required Qualifications
**
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or related field
- 2–4 years of process engineering experience in manufacturing
- Knowledge of SPC, Lean/Six Sigma, root‑cause analysis, and process validation
- Experience in a regulated environment preferred
Preferred Qualifications
- Lean Six Sigma certification
- Experience in plastics or injection molding a plus
- Project management experience
- Validation experience in medical, pharmaceutical, or similar industries
