The EVP & General Manager, Compliance Solutions is a member of the $1.1B Wolters Kluwer Financial & Corporate Compliance (FCC) Division Executive team. This includes collaborating, leading and operating as a divisional leader and member of the Wolters Kluwer Executive Dialogues Group (EDG).
Responsible for managing the Compliance Solutions Business Unit P&L of approximately $500M and articulating a vision, strategy, and operating plan to profitable grow BU revenues to $1B+ within 3-5 years.
BU-wide activities include: creating and setting the vision and overall strategy; overseeing and guiding the execution of strategies and tactics; ensuring human capital resources are sufficient to meet the vision and deliver on the strategy; focusing teams’ efforts in support of strategic goals; ensuring business objectives and goals are met with a focus on growth; adapting the business unit model to meet evolving market needs; driving predictable profitability; defining standard processes and trackable success metrics; inspiring strong performance, engagement and belonging from business unit leaders and employees; driving enthusiasm and culture deep into the organization; developing talent; budget development and administration; representing the business in cross organizational activities; serving as a key business and thought leadership leader; and representing CS, FCC and WK within the industry.

This role requires high personal touch with team members across the business unit, high visibility and engagement with customers, and personal relationship development with strategic partners.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Creates vision, value proposition and overall strategy for the Compliance Solutions business unit by keeping abreast of the Wolters Kluwer and FCC strategy and mission; engaging in in-depth and ongoing analysis of products, services, process and customer needs and preferences, maintaining a detailed understanding of competitive and complementary products offered by our competition and partners; staying informed of industry standards, methodologies, processes and best practices; identifying and sharing trends; identifying opportunities to collaborate across CS, FCC or other WK Divisions; leveraging internal platforms; synthesizing information into an overall strategy that best articulates the value proposition by the market; creating, evolving and continuing a business development plan, detailing revenue and profit expectations, along with supporting strategic and tactical plans; prioritizing opportunities and expenditures such that investments are made logically, do not exceed available resources, and optimizes the overall health of the business; translating business needs into solutions that the organization can deliver; working closely with the CS Executive Operating Committee (EOC) to ensure the team delivers on the strategy.
- Oversees and owns the P&L by directing the forecasting of product line/market segment revenue, gross margin, and operating costs; estimating financial resources required to support all activities; ensuring budgets are captured and iterated into standard templates; authorizing, tracking and reconciling spending against the budget throughout the year; justifying and securing unplanned resources as necessary to maintain business operations; and collaborating with leadership to ensure P&L budget is represented in the overall operating budget. This includes strong understanding and leadership to manage expenses within the business unit, available and dedicated Divisional Connected Partners, and available and dedicated WK Connected Partners.
- Represents CS in cross-organizational activities by collaborating with peers to develop, advance, and execute business unit/FCC/Wolters Kluwer initiatives and strategies; and serving as a key business leader, thought leader and role model.
- Represents Wolters Kluwer/FCC/CS with customer, partners, and industry influencers by developing and maintaining knowledge of the products, industry trends, general business and financial acumen through various sources; communicating the competitive advantage to customers in a compelling articulate manner (e.g., speech, writing, formal presentation); behaving in ways that demonstrate corporate core values and culture; developing professional and positive business relationships with customers and colleagues; and maintaining a reputation of competence, integrity and professionalism.
- Drives the implementation of planned strategies and tactics by translating the Wolters Kluwer vision, mission and strategy into a market specific version for CS solutions based on knowledge of the customers, competition and regulatory needs; driving the creation and evaluation of sub-strategies that exemplify the corporate strategies, leverages resources effectively, and produces market share, customer satisfaction and revenue for the business; identifying opportunities to support the Wolters Kluwer goal of being the customer’s first choice; participating in strategic planning meetings; determining execution feasibility (e.g., scope, resources, timelines); communicating goals, objectives and strategies to resources; providing guidance and assisting with sales and other business development activities to meet strategic goals; and overseeing the execution of consistent policies, strategies and tactics.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Minimum: Bachelor’s Degree in business or equivalent experience
- Preferred: Master of Business Administration
Experience:
- Minimum 15 years' business experience.
- Minimum 10 years' management experience.
- Experience delivering top line revenue growth and margin for a global customer-facing software/expert solution business, with ownership for a full operating P&L, including responsibility for different functions and disciplines.
- Demonstrated outcomes from 1-2 previous roles successfully managing a large, highly complex software/expert solution portfolio (minimum $400M) with a meaningful global footprint across multiple customer segments and markets.
- Track record of defining a broad strategy and successfully translating this into tangible action for the business to execute (e.g., prioritizing investment options, allocating resources)
- Has worked in and influenced in a high-performance matrix environment, preferably for Fortune 500 companies which includes presenting to and engaging with CEO, Board of Directors, and understands Investor Relations to meet their needs and build support for strategy and operating plans.
- M&A experience (strategy, due diligence, and execution) with track record of successful results.
- Led software/expert solution businesses in markets at different stages of maturity and growth, in particular managing turnaround situations, mature, high growth, etc.
- Experience building an engaging, high performing organization and culture of belonging with a large geographically dispersed team.
- Enterprise software/expert solution and GTM experience selling to diverse B2B customer segments.
- Background leading the software product development process, including an understanding of challenges in a technology environment and the needs of external customers.

Compensation:
$433,500.00 - $650,250.00 USD
This role is eligible for Bonus.
Compensation range listed is based on primary location of the position. Actual base salary offer is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skills, experience and actual hiring location.
