Job Summary
The Sr Manager, Contract Operations leads a team of membership analysts. The primary responsibility will be to lead all membership activities for commercial customers for the generic, IV Therapy, and biosimilars businesses. This role will be the primary point of contact with national accounts and field sales to guide eligibility recommendations and membership strategy for Fresenius Kabi customers that deliver maximum return. The Sr Manager leads a team responsible for preparing membership analysis for contract creation and membership maintenance for existing contracts.
This position is heavily reliant on interacting with multiple Fresenius Kabi US business functions. The Sr Manager must practice proactive management, drive collaboration, and be a positive team leader. This role must provide ongoing support, training, and development of the team members. This position serves as the internal liaison between finance, customer service, data services, IT, and contract operations.
This is a hybrid position, and the selected candidate will be required to work onsite in the Lake Zurich, Illinois office 3 days a week.
Salary Range: $135,000 - $160,000 per year
Position is eligible to participate in a bonus plan with a target of 14% of the base salary. Final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to experience level, education, knowledge, skills, and abilities. Responsibilities
- Lead and provide strategic oversight of all membership-related activities in alignment with departmental and corporate SOPs, ensuring compliance, consistency, and operational excellence.
- Direct the administration and governance of pricing relationships, membership rosters, and contract eligibility across all commercial agreements and classes of trade, ensuring accuracy and alignment with contractual terms.
- Oversee the resolution of chargeback discrepancies by guiding the team in validating contract eligibility, analyzing customer data, and collaborating with customers, wholesalers, and internal stakeholders to ensure compliant and timely processing.
- Partner with Contracting and Legal teams to influence and support membership-related terms within customer agreements, ensuring operational feasibility and alignment with business objectives.
- Serve as an escalation point and neutral advocate for complex account issues, leading investigations, resolving disputes, and driving equitable outcomes through data-driven analysis and cross-functional collaboration.
- Lead, develop, and manage team performance by setting priorities, allocating resources, and ensuring adherence to deadlines; provide coaching, training, and performance management to drive a high-performing team environment.
- Provide leadership and oversight of internal and external audit activities related to membership, sales, and class of trade, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Maintain strategic relationships with wholesalers, serving as a key point of contact for contract pricing, eligibility, and data-related inquiries.
- Facilitate cross-functional alignment across Finance, Customer Service, Data Services, IT, and Contract Operations to ensure accurate execution of membership processes, including contract maintenance, eligibility validation, and discrepancy resolution.
- Oversee 340B program activities, including quarterly termination processes, government reporting, and compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.
- Serve as the primary external contact for membership-related inquiries, managing centralized communication channels and ensuring timely, accurate responses.
- Develop and communicate membership-related updates, insights, and process changes to the field sales organization and internal leadership to drive alignment and transparency.
- Drive project execution by managing timelines, tracking deliverables, and ensuring accountability across stakeholders to meet business objectives.
- Analyze and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify trends, improve processes, and enhance the effectiveness of Commercial Membership Validation.
- Identify and lead process improvement opportunities and develop or enhance tools to assist in deliverables.
- Complete all training requirements, including all department-specific, compliance training, etc.
- Participate in any and all reasonable work activities as assigned by management.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s or advanced degree preferred
- 8+ years of related experience (Healthcare or related industry i.e., Med Tech, Medical Device, Pharmaceutical highly preferred).
- Minimum of 3 years of management experience leading teams required.
- Ability to successfully facilitate and complete projects in a matrix environment to facilitate critical business decisions.
- Exhibits strong analytical capabilities with effective use of data tools and techniques.
- Demonstrates leadership capabilities, resiliency, and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in high-pressure environments.
- Demonstrated achievement of building strong working relationships with internal departments and external customers.
- Strong presentation skills accompanied with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
- Skilled in conflict resolution, with a focus on fostering collaboration and maintaining a positive team dynamic.
- Intermediate to advance skillset with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), and other database/ERP concepts (i.e., SAP, Salesforce.com).
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills with ability to make recommendations based on analysis.
- Ability to travel to attend meetings/trainings/programs/customer visits (approximately 5-10%) and is based on business need (via public transportation: air/auto); may require overnight travel.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with all employees and external business contacts while conveying a positive, service-oriented attitude.
