How This Role Impacts Live Oak And Its People
The Senior Accounting Associate impacts every aspect of Bank and Subsidiary accounting. This role is responsible for reviewing and posting all general ledger entries and processes for accounting operations.
What You’ll Do At Live Oak
- Responsible for reviewing all invoice, employee reimbursement and corporate credit card processing
- Responsible for review of Fixed Assets and Prepaids
- Responsible for Bank and Subsidiary payroll allocations
- Stays abreast of policies and procedures to ensure Associates are using correctly in processes
- Prepares monthly general and flight accruals
- Responsible for creating biweekly payroll and benefit payables entries
- Perform monthly SBA guarantee fee reconciliation to capture any discrepancies
- Assist in internal and external audit requests
- Process consolidated tax estimates, returns, and extensions
- Pull quarterly 1099 reports to review for accuracy
- Assist in month end closing processes
- Responsible for maintaining and enforcing accounting operations policies and procedures
- Maintains and seeks to create efficiencies in accounting operations
- Reviews all Accounts Payable processing for completeness and accuracy before posting and prior to payment
- Responsible for month-end General Ledger Accruals and Payroll Allocations
- Reviews intercompany transactions, processes income tax accruals and other monthly or quarterly entries
- Provides guidance to Associates that are responsible for recording the acquisition, monthly depreciation, or disposition of Fixed Assets
- Reviews and approves monthly recording of Fixed Assets depreciation and Prepaids processing
- Maintains company-wide leases and makes appropriate intercompany entries
- Communicates accounting department payment processing procedures and helpful tips to Bank employees as needed
- Maintain and research general ledger discrepancies
- Review all manual general ledger entries
- Execution of monthly general ledger closing process
- Maintain a high standard of regulatory awareness including BSA, AML, CIP, and OFAC
Required Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business
- 5 years of related experience in the Financial Accounting industry
- Proficiency in computer software packages
Preferred Experience
- Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business or CPA certification

The base pay range for this position is $71,960.00 - $113,080.00 per year. Compensation may also include annual bonuses and long-term incentives, subject to various metrics and company policy. A candidate’s salary is determined by several factors including travel, relevant work experience or skills and expertise.
